Vance says Nixon was taken down by the deep state for Watergate.

While I agree that in today's news cycle Watergate would only be in the news for 12 hours, not sure I agree that it was no big deal and that Nixon was taken down by the deep state. But what do I know?

Obama did at least three things that were easily worse than Watergate. Spygate was actually Watergate on steroids, and the IRS and Fast and Furious scandals were both grounds for summary impeachment.

Nixon had just won by a landslip and very popular. I had some people at different times that were around at the time, said if he just came out in the beginning and confessed and did an apology it would have been a nothing burger. Instead he tried to cover it up and sweep it under the rug. And then it festered.
