We literally have done the permanent DST thing. It lasted all of 2 years or so.

EVERYONE hated it. If we are going to stick with one, it should be Standard time.

The current system is perfect actually. I have no idea why this has become a big issue.

Same. It’s just not that big of a deal.

But all of the sudden people pretend like they just have sooooo much to do outside at 6:00pm in December.

If we go to standard then we need to move everything up an hour. 8-4 instead of 9-5.

Or we can just stay at dst and in districts that worry about it being dark for school can just push their start time back a little.

News flash, the morning sun doesn't give a damn about the time of day.

The whole Earth survived up until the last few hundred years with the rising and setting of the sun.

Man, in his infinite wisdom (stupidity), decided he could do it better by devising an artificial system of "time".

Simple fix... go to school an hour later. Why do people think it is hard to go to school or work an hour later when that is what we do now? The only difference would be what the clock says.

Farmers don't live by the clock. Farmers live by the sun, the moon, the calendar, and the weather. Clock doesn't mean squat about work to a farmer.

I really could not care less one way or the other. With all the problems we have, this is a big concern for you? Whatever happens, we will all adjust to it and life will feel normal.

Or, you could just move your clock twice a year and have almost no effect on your life whatsoever.

So sleep late and work late. We’re not talking advance calculus here.

What a worthless never Trump closet homo
It is difficult to imagine an issue which is less-ideological than this one. Reasonable people on each side of the aisle can differ, as demonstrated by the fact that half the ardent Trump supporters on this forum disagree with his position on this issue.

Hard to imagine, but not everything is about Trump.

I was raised in agriculture, and (trust me) ag folks don't give a damn about the clock. The position of the sun is all that matters. You adjust your schedule to match it.

The divide here is basically between those who are worried about their kids catching a bus in the dark, versus those who want to play a quick round of golf after work.

Personally, I am more concerned about the safety of the kiddos than about some adult's recreational pursuits.
