This is just a dumb take. Literally the only medal up for grabs on day one was some shooting medals and cycling.

Ironically it was an athlete from Cali that I saw interviewed that made sense. One of our archers and pure California dude. "I like dont get it, I mean you are representing our country right, I mean what are you protesting, you are like here right, trained, fed and clothed by the country right, and you want to protest them, I like dont get it."
