No it won’t. For goodness sake, read between the lines. Our allies’ oil is being blocked by Iran. We are going to try to fix that by blocking Iranian oil and other imports/exports. We are not going to lose allies over that.

Pretty simple. No different than pulling a car over.

Sounds like a good way to start WWIII.

You envision a commercial tanker crew who is gonna ram a ship blocking their path? Or defend it from being boarded once stopped? Why would we blow it up?

So we're going to engage with an ally trying to legally purchase an essential product without any legal authority to do so?

We can all imagine a strategy that might be reasonably calculated to have a positive impact, but the OP’s description is that we will basically become world oil pirates and steal oil and money. That can not be the plan.

So if a tanker from a NATO country that paid the toll tries to cross, what are we going to do? Blow it up? China?

I don’t know what you mean by “China?”, but our allies do not accept the tolling, so this will not be an issue.

Are you on record predicting China sends their Navy to escort oil tankers?

Lloyds of London stopped the ships once, why wouldn't a threat stop them a second time?

Well one would hope the US isn't going to act like a bunch of crazy and desperate Islamicists

I am not sure how China responds.

I'm discussing what the US is going to do.

China will start escorting tankers.

This stratagem is easily defeated by bombing Kharg Island. It’s Iranian oil we are targeting with this blockade. If China wants to escort UAE, Kuwaiti, Qatar or Saudi oil we would welcome that. These are the oil producers that IRAN wants to block.

We are going to prevent commercial traffic as we see fit. We will not allow Iran to control who comes and goes based on fealty to them. We have the power to control who comes and goes and will exercise that. We have always been asked to protect free trade on the oceans of the world, no one else is capable, we are doing that here.

We gave them the option to open the straight on their own and they said no.
Now we get the say so in when the straight opens. It will open when we allow it to open and in the meantime good ole USA crude is being sold to everyone on the globe!
Art of The Deal my friends. Now do people understand what Trump meant yesterday when he said “either way we win”?

^^ THIS RIGHT HERE ^^

I reluctantly supported the actions taken at the end of February because I felt there was justification for it. I'm now all in.

VP Vance extended those dumb MFers a lifeline, but they were too stupid to grasp it.

It is now time to choke the life out of them and get this over with.

And speculating that blow it up is the option the US Navy will pursue. Like there aren't preferable options.

The United States is the most powerful country on this planet. Just the last few months have proven this to everyone. Having our bases in other countries ensures them they they have protection. Ain't no one giving that up.

Yes, because everyone knows that the way to peace and cooler minds prevailing is to physically stop the means to life as you know it.

I don’t know the correct answer, but if that is done then what does the opposition have to lose?

The Obiden plan was to throw tax payers money at the sponsors of terrorism.

How it that come out?
