And speculating that blow it up is the option the US Navy will pursue. Like there aren't preferable options.

Any force or threat of force will suffice for my question.

Having our bases in other countries ensures them they they have protection.

From whom?

We are being the worldwide aggressors outside of Russia, and Russia's a bit bogged down in their quagmire.

How?

The majority of the worlds oil does not pass thru the Strait of Hormuz

Yes I said we were acting unilaterally and illegally.

Well the pretend world police can take us to pretend court and we can get pretend punishment.

Why would we not act unilaterally? It’s our fricking navy, not the worlds.

All ships, except those of Iran and free to come and go.

It doesn't matter. It could be a patrol boat with no offensive capabilities.

The question is if we'd fire on it. If we won't, then there is no blockade. If we will, then we're declaring war on most of the world, effecitvely.

the OP’s description is that we will basically become world oil pirates and steal oil and money. That can not be the plan.

In the OP’s defense, Trump did post that we were going to block the Strait. That’s why I wrote “read between the lines”. Truth and Twitter are not formats that encourage detailed descriptions of strategy.

We can all imagine a strategy that might be reasonably calculated to have a positive impact, but the OP’s description is that we will basically become world oil pirates and steal oil and money. That can not be the plan.
Your streak continues, you have been wrong since 2007 and the trend continues, Congratulations on being the biggest winner in the biggest loser contest.

I'm not even suggesting that.

We're fricking over our allies. Again. For about the 20th time since January 2025.

You know that we need allies, right?

I say bomb the hell out of this evil regime. Go ahead with the blockade but bomb a few bridges and power plants as well, immediately! And if thousands of useful idiots stand hand in hand in defiance at the target sites, wave goodbye to them as they meet their maker!

I thought Trump said the USA doesn’t need the oil passing through the strait? Why does he care so much about it? Was he bluffing or lying?

I'm not. It's a simple bluff analysis.

If China thinks we're bluffing, they don't need any offensive capability. Just bait.

If a tanker from a NATO country, is willing to financially support Iran, either it, or the country from which it originates, has gone rogue.

So - you started off by questioning how people who think WW3 would happen via Russia/Ukraine would react to this news. Now, you are the one saying this will cause WW3.

You know our allies need us, right?

I doubt they’ll be upset about not paying a 2 mill per ship toll to the Iranians in perpetuity. Though they’ll need to act tough toward us to satisfy the Muslim simps like you in their own countries.
