Yea, thats what I mean. Sounds more like him dropping BS to give himself cover. I believe you that its what he claimed.
Just saying it doesnt make sense if thats what happened and all hes doing is crying to Bannon about it

Now it looks like 431 voting. So he’d need 216.
214+211+3+4+0+0 = 432
50% of 432 =216
216+1 = 217
He needs 217 during this vote, which number can change depending on the number of voters during the next vote

Seems they all quickly forget that concept upon arrival to DC

218. That's what the CSpan narrator just said.
Then they’re an idiot. It’s 50+1 of who votes. If the 431 votes is right. 216 is the number

None of that is relevant. They can vote for their mailman if they want to. It's a no vote, or a vote of no confidence. You don't have to have an alternative.

I can do math, jackass. Fox is showing 213 votes for McCarthy

CSPAN just said 217 is magic number today.

432 voting today. He needs 217 if they all vote.

CSPAN showing 214 for him.

Why are you watching Fox? They haven't had an accurate vote count in years

Where’s this extra vote? They waiting on somebody?

Winning with 217 makes it a tenuous win. "McCarthy couldn't even win the speakership with a majority of his colleagues." At least with 218 you have the majority of 435.

The various iterations of comments such as, “with faith in my colleagues” strike me as disingenuous.
It depends on what faith they are talking about...
"I have faith they will do the 4 things I asked them to do to receive my vote."
Versus:
"I have faith that they will not use the power of the Republican party against me during my re-election campaign."
Two completely areas of faith. One instills confidence of good negotiations. The other is one of persuasion out of fear.
I think what you saw today on the vote-changers were all emotion of defeat. "At least they won't work against me during re-election." Meanwhile, they are also thinking, "Doesn't matter. Me changing to McCarthy kills all my chances back home."

Been working like a honky and haven’t had time to keep up. Did some of the 20 switch to McCarthy?
