US CFR 3.58%

(CFR last calculated was 3.18%, 2.94%, 2.72%, 2.57%, 2.47%, 2.22%, 2.05%, 1.84%, 1.76%,1.66%, 1.63%, 1.51%, 1.42%, 1.28%, 1.34%, and 1.28%.)

As the numbers above show, the more data we collect, the worse this appears to be getting. We rose above the 3% mark today, well above the 1.23% number we had gotten down within a week of our starting to test.

Also concerning is the fact that the CFR for this disease globally, in Italy (often cited as the worst case), and in Germany (often cited as the European best case) is also slowly rising.

For comparison's sake:

CFR for the Chinese Virus globally (includes fake Chinese numbers): 6.0% (rising)
CFR for the Chinese Virus in Italy: 12.7% (rising)
CFR for the Chinese Virus in Germany: 2.2% (rising)
CFR for the Chinese Virus in Sweden (no lockdowns): 8.7%

(the case fatality rate for the SARS coronavirus is 14%-15% and for the seasonal flu is 0.002%-0.1%.)

Interview with a British intensivist that does a good job of explaining what is going on.

The mortality rate is inflated because an outbreak happened at a senior living facility in the Seattle metro area, which is where most of the deaths came from

Just curious, when is someone considered "recovered?" Do they have to be completely symptom free? I would assume that it would be clear within a few days that most people aren't going to become critically ill.

The first page has a thread about a plane flying over their house and one about trump attempting to troll people. This thread at least has substance to it.

Observed mortality 4.73%

If you would subtract the 66 confirmed cases on CRUISE ships that are NOT on American soil, your precious mortality rate for the U.S. would go up a couple of % points.

I mean, the U.S. really doesn't have any controll over their health at this time.

Just say'n.

More people will be murdered in Chicago the next three nights than the number of people who have died from the virus the last two weeks in the U.S. much less Chicago but for some reason no one gives a shite.

Think about that, considering all the attention the media is directing to one and not the other.

Had first confirmed case in Oklahoma today. It's not showing up on national news yet but it was big breaking news locally on all the networks earlier.

Tulsa County. Man who had traveled recently to and from Paris. Right after I was at the ER in Tulsa with a family member in Tulsa last night until after 2am

Still, my level of concern = less than meh. It's going to spread, and it's going to run its course and pass.

I expect this percentage to decrease somewhat as more people are diagnosed.

That's some deep thought put into that one.

Did you finally stop praying for the Coronavirus to kill us all so it hurts Trump politically or you still holding out hope?

I live in Pierce County south of Seattle. I'm watching a press conference right now about the first confirmed case in the county. Just happens to be hospitalized about 5 miles from my house. Certainly not panicking but I'm interested to hear where the patient has been in the past week or so.
