The CDC figure? So I got it from the CDC? So the CDC includes that in their reporting? Ok!

There are 331 MILLION people in America and 317 of them have Coronovirus. Do you know how idiotic it is that you are tracking this bullshite? All of these other things are more likely to kill you!!! Nobody is in an uproar or giving 8 BILLION DOLLARS to fund them or even keeping a daily tracker on TD for them. Stop being a fearmonger OP.

The CDC figure includes pneumonia.

Was referring to the post from flexdog.
Again apologies for confusion. Can we please drop this. Not looking for a fight.
ETA for clairty: was referring to CDC 6.9% mortality from flu and pneumonia. Point attempting to make: we cannot extrapolate corona mortality from the 6.9% figure. That is all.
I believe we are on the same side of this discussion.

And?
Oh no, we're all gonna die!!
Guess what? You're gonna die. I'm gonna die. My husband is gonna die. My kids are gonna die. My parents are gonna die. We ALL die. That's a fact. No matter what the government does or doesn't do, that fact doesn't change for ANY OF US. Stop being afraid and stop trying to make everyone else afraid.

There are a lot of folks genuinely confused by misleading info being put out. Didn't know the context here.

Not at all. I thought the other poster misunderstood the point I was trying to make.

My beef is with the OP. I may have replied on you my bad. This whole topic is just the OP trying to push the hype. I'm just trying to calm it. It's all good.

You should all come together for a beer now that the is over.
Or would that help the spread of CV19?

Just a reminder
The seasonal flu went from 0 to 250,000 hospitalizations in 60 days this flu season.

How long does flu season last?
And what's your point?
Here's the CDC numbers for 2018-2019 (2020 not available). Not sure what your numbers are referencing.
CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza.

More people will be murdered in Chicago the next three nights than the number of people who have died from the virus the last two weeks in the U.S. much less Chicago but for some reason no one gives a shite.
You're missing the point. That's a relatively high mortality rate for how easily this spreads.
Also go look at any chart monitoring this, it starts off small and grows exponentially. If the trend holds more people will die in the next two weeks than these two weeks, and so on.
Will it slow down? I hope. But outside of China's cooked numbers we haven't seen it yet.

Keep your distance. And don't kiss.
Those are two pieces of advice that could be crucial in reducing the spread of the coronavirus.
Public health officials say the spread has been mainly driven through people spending time indoors with others who have the disease.
"Looks like the main driver is not widespread community infection — looks like it's household-level infection," Dr. Bruce Aylward, a senior adviser to the World Health Organization, said at a news conference in Geneva on Feb. 25.
Indeed, data from China's cases show that most of the spread is happening among family members who live together.

I wonder if he knows this Harvard Scientist?
Charles Lieber, the chair of Harvard University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, has been arrested and criminally charged with making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the U.S. Defense Department about his ties to a Chinese government program to recruit foreign scientists and researchers.
The Justice Department says Lieber, 60, lied about his contact with the Chinese program known as the Thousand Talents Plan, which the U.S. has previously flagged as a serious intelligence concern. He also is accused of lying about about a lucrative contract he signed with China's Wuhan University of Technology.
In an affidavit unsealed Tuesday, FBI Special Agent Robert Plumb said Lieber, who led a Harvard research group focusing on nanoscience, had established a research lab at the Wuhan university — apparently unbeknownst to Harvard.

Isn't part of that point where the cases are found. The healthcare system in America cannot be compared to that of Africa, Asia, South America, etc.
What are the number of cases in America and the deaths? (not Americans on cruise ships or in foreign lands.)
