Been around a long time. The main tank killer round we used when I was a tanker in the late 80s and 90s was the APFSDS (Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot)….
It has no explosive charge. It’s really just a huge dart made of depleted uranium that uses kinetic energy to defeat armor.
