“deny,” “defend” and “depose” written on them, a senior New York City law enforcement official briefed on the investigation confirmed to NBC News on Thursday.
Brian Thompson, 50, was killed in a “premeditated, preplanned targeted attack” outside the New York Hilton Midtown on Sixth Avenue in the heart of Manhattan, police said.

Deny, Defend, Depose is a strategic approach associated with insurance claims handling.
Deny - Reject the claim, allegation, or responsibility.
Defend - Shift the focus to defending against the allegation or claim.
Depose - Engage in the process of gathering sworn testimony.
Looking more and more like someone who was very upset with the insurance companies.

Looking more and more like someone that may have been wronged by UnitedHealthcare, or tried to expose shenanigans and maybe got targeted by them in some way.

Well, that clears up any debate about the motivation.

Insurance companies are just evil. People complain about lawyers, but at least they are trying to help people. I am not condoning this act, but these are some awful people.

We’re the 11 property insurance companies that went insolvent in the wake of Ida evil? 20 more left the state because the costs of S La is higher than what they could charge, what about them?
I get people have individual problems with ins cos. But painting all cos with a broad brush doesn’t help the issue.
P&C, auto and Life and Health costs have skyrocketed in the last 15 years. People want to pay what they paid in 2001.
You can’t tell ins cos come do this because it’s the right thing to do. No one does that in this world in a free market. You have to give them an incentive that involves a profit and then create a healthy market so s&d can stabilize prices. Then technology and efficiency can be utilized. Instead we allow winners and losers to be picked by corrupt legislators being paid by lobbyists (not just injury attys).
Or you can just have the government do it and tax the shite out of people.
Are there evil people at some ins cos? Sure. But then they are a necessary evil. Unless you want your health auto and property cov to be handled by the people who fricked up FEMA.
To be fair that might be what ends up happening. We are in the way.

Seems like it OR someone could put that out there in order to set up a patsy and get them off the real motive.
Sorry I just watched Jack Reacher

The Feinman book is currently (in a kindle version) a #1 bestseller on Amazon.

This is just a really weird event.
Dude was about to get hauled in for insider trading and then gets clipped? Either someone was afraid he would sing like a bird or there's some big pension that he stood to lose if convicted and fires doe he planned his own murder to keep his family from losing all the money.
Guess I'll have to wait for the American Greed episode to find out the truth.

No, I am not. I have just been screwed over and have watched others be screwed over by lying Insurance company representatives. You should not have to get a lawyer to get fair treatment by these people.

What's the name of the book? There are several books by Feyman with a "Y", but I don't see any by a Feinman with an "I"?
