It’s worse than white flight.

In the final Obama years, the goal was to fund massive public housing in white-dominated neighborhoods of suburbs. The stated goal was specifically to diversify White neighborhoods

Arseholes. Rather than spend the money to fix black communities, they just wanted to destroy us

Ben Carson thankfully scrapped it for 4 years.

But now it’s back.

Soviet Bloc housing, poverty, rigged elections, and authoritarian rigid class structure. Here we come.

Balkanize and let the NorthEast have its fiefdom.

While I think its a disgrace to spend more money on the project, here is an excerpt from the article, Im not sure where they came up with the 900%:

quote:

“I am particularly pleased that the request proposes more than $30 billion to expand housing vouchers to an additional 200,000 low-income families, Fudge said.

The president’s fiscal year 2022 discretionary request provides a total of $68.7 billion for HUD, an increase of $9 billion over 2021.

Its voucher increases, Im laughing thinking about the Karens in Beau Rivage and Meadowbrook having some of the 9th ward's finest moving in next door. The disconnect between voting for biden and the results will suddenly become very relevant, particularly when little Beau gets gang jumped in school.

What better way to cash in on this other than free housing? More free shite and some politician will get wildly rich. Watch! It’s corruption at its finest.

No doubt that will happen. But repurposed commercial space for private residential needs is very different approach, and actually may be a good thing.

People want the communism social worker revolution, this is what it looks like. Rezoned commercial spaces with shared government housing managed by social workers. Don’t want to share showers and toilets with 20 other families? Go to work.

Public housing > Section 8.

Democrats have finally realized the bottom 30% of the population is helpless and can never succeed.

Watch for another huge push for amnesty too.

They desperately want to capture this new block of people into the welfare system.

It all coincides together. fricking discussing.

repurposing commercial space is not even in the thought process.

The feds are putting pressure on all metro suburban areas to stop zoning so much space for single housing.

Its a two fold approach, build projects in the suburbs AND give vouchers for single homes. Biden himself said it will enable "poor" neighborhood dwellers to "take advantage" of the schools and jobs in prosperous areas.

So yes, just fck up nice areas of the country now that you have destroyed the inner cities. And use your tax dollars to destroy your own lives.

So more people in the housing market. Great, I already can barely afford a house where I live.

It will break up communities, and everyone will be worse for it.

They’re as pig headed as the Soviets or the Communists in China.

This won't increase the value of a home in the suburbs, quite the opposite.

I think the word "relentless" would be more appropriate.

NAHB - Changes in Zoning to Encourage Affordable Housing

quote:

Rezoning underutilized industrial and/or commercial areas for residential use. Many cities have seen a decline in manufacturing and other types of industrial uses that are not likely to return and have a limited supply of land for housing, but have not rezoned land to reflect this new reality.

I promise you it is.

Yep. Increase demand while supply sinks... do the math. Rent control & public funding ( tax money ) to pay for it all.

My friend owns a bunch rental houses and he said these companies are buying them up left and right. I came up because he thought about dumping all his properties to them and reinvesting when the market drops again.
