Ukrainian officials vowed to continue the war against Russia until Moscow returns all of the occupied territory during a so-called peace summit in Davos, Switzerland ahead of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.
Switzerland hosted a meeting of 81 representatives from countries and international organisations in Davos on Sunday to discuss a formula “for a lasting and just peace in Ukraine”. American officials from the Biden administration attended the meeting, including U.S. special representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker and the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien, Reuters reports.

Following the meeting, Yermak (pictured above, right) rejected the notion of a ceasefire between his country and Russia, claiming that it would only allow for Moscow to fortify its forces for another future attack on Ukraine.
“It’s definitely not the path to peace. The Russians do not want peace. They want domination. So, the choice is simple: either we lose and vanish – or win and live on. And we are fighting,” Yermak wrote on his personal Telegram channel.

from the article you linked:
So if no one from one side of the warring parties is not present, is this really a "peace" summit......
Russia is not ready to end this....they believe they can still dictate better terms by improving their situation on the battle field, and they believe they can out last the western support.....
maybe this time next year (with a new president) we will have actual talks of an end to this thing.....

Well they aren’t the ones in the trenches so it’s easy for them to act that way.

What a total waste of our money. And the US and UK blocking a peace deal a year ago is another blackeye for the uni-party.

Ukraine has lost so many people of child bearing age either to death, severe injury, or leaving the country that the country is done. They already had population crisis for people under 30 due to low birth rates in the 90s. I read that there are more Ukrainian amputees now than the British had in all of WWII. Just a sad waste of human life for nothing. Russia is going to take eastern and southern Ukraine anyway.

If you walked up to the average American in the street and put two 100 dolllar bills in their hand and said "you can keep that, or you can give it back to me so I can give it to cargo pants to buy another villa on the Med....what do you think the support would be for this war?

IMO, Depopulation of Ukraine has always been the main objective of this "war".

Didn’t all those Palestinian protestors storm the White House last night because they wanted a ceasefire?
They’re gonna be po’d when they hear Ukraine isn’t declaring one, too.

Our politicians and bureaucrats need to launder money, so it’s not for nothing.

Russia hasn’t offered peace to Ukraine. Russia has invaded Ukraine and is making no offer to withdraw or stop fighting. Ukraine is merely resisting.

His top generals wanted to accept the ceasefires. But what do they know?

I loved that one. So we have spent, in the past decade, 40 times what russia has spent on weapon development, and they come out with something that we are years from making? Either you have been thiefing HUGE dollars, or you are all a bunch of idiots.
And then lo and behold, they shoot them at Ukraine and they are shot down.....wait a minute those systems were given to them by the US, but I thought we knew nothing about those hypersonic weapons, but somehow know enough, not only on how they are developed....but to shoot them down?

I suggest Yermak go pick up a rifle.

Good deal. No more US money to fund your fricking entire government (including government workers) and see how long that lasts.

Hypersonic missiles delivered by anti gravity propelled drones. Aka “UFO or UAP”
They can hit any major city in the US and we can’t stop it. We can do the same. So can China.
All those tanks and warships are useless in the next generation of warfare. Space and anti gravity propulsion systems. Do a little research.
While the china spy balloon was on the news, we shot down 4 of them over Canada entering our airspace. They are real and they aren’t from aliens or another planet.

Why would Ukraine accept a peace deal when Congress is preparing to sent another $58B in wartime aid?
That would be like an NFL player retiring the day before they are due a $10 million roster bonus.
