Two-time cancer survivor posts video explaining why he left Democratic Party over the ACA

Story and video.

My insurance was $185/month with a $1,000 deductible. That was for a family of 5. So I voted for Obama-Biden in 2008 based on Obamacare. Now fast forward to 2010 when Obamacare was implemented. Everything that they said was not true.
quote:
The Supreme Court ruled that it was a tax if you didn't have insurance, that penalty. So that was a lie. Insurance premiums went up instead of down. That was a lie. The insurance policy that I had specifically that I had going through 2 bouts of cancer -- chemotherapy, amputation, all of this stuff. It was great insurance. The insurance company canceled it because under the new Obamacare guidelines that policy wasn't good enough so they no longer offered it. They came up with a new offer and said this is what your new plan will be or you can go through the marketplace. And when I looked at it, the cheapest insurance I could find to replace that one was $1,200 a month with a $6,000 deductible.
quote:
So I had to make a choice. Do I keep a roof over my children's head or do I get health insurance and struggle? And I choose to just keep a roof over my children's head. And then I was penalized every year. I didn't have insurance for 10 years after that. I couldn't afford it.
For ten years I was penalized every single year because I could no longer afford the insurance that I was required to get through law through Obamacare. I voted for that shite. And it did nothing but hurt me and my family.

We tried to explain to people the consequences of voting for Obama & what he would do to our country & they didn’t listen.

Too late now, dumbfrick. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see Obama was lying through his teeth. Anyone stupid enough to believe what that piece of shite was selling during his campaign deserves nothing but ridicule because you are directly responsible for the shitshow that is the USA right now.

Why did he vote for change then? That’s a great price. Did he think he was getting screwed or something ? What else does the world owe you!?!

frick him. Let him die. His kind have ruined this country. He was old enough to know better, but he voted like a moron anyway. I don't want to hear about how he's learned his lesson.

My wife and I had an excellent policy prior to Obamacare. It wasn't cheap at $500 each per month, but it covered everything with low co-pays and very small deductibles. After Obamacare, the cheapest plan was the equivalent of what used to be a $120 catastrophic care plan for nearly $500. Our previous plan's equivalent was crazy expensive.
All Obamacare did was force people who work for a living to pay for the health insurance for free loaders.

“What I had was fantastic. So I voted to smash that great thing I had to pieces for no reason whatsoever. Now I regret it.”
Well no kidding there, Cecília Gimenez.

Hmmm, the govt gets involved in health insurance and bills go up. The govt gets involved in student loans and tuition goes up.
I'm beginning to see a correlation.

Don’t 60% of Americans approve of it? Doesn’t seem like anyone really cares. I’m well aware of the disaster of ACA but I certainly never mich negativity about Obama’s legacy because of it. I feel like most people see it as a greater good.

This is the basis behind every single piece of democrat legislation in at least the last 15 years. Probably a lot longer than that.

Insurance is a scam.
Healthcare for profit should be a crime.

So healthcare should mirror the VA?
And most hospitals in the US are non profit.

Which was EXACTLY the plan. Worked like a charm.

What an asinine thing to say. Piss off with this evil rhetoric.

What is evil is using the force of government to take from the producers to give to the users without compensation. It's a form of indentured servitude, except you never agreed to anything, nor did you receive any benefit for it. And what's more, nobody gives a damn if you kill yourself with work, trying to not only provide for your family, but the people who the government requires you to support.

Of course. What is also evil is saying shite such as:
quote:
frick him. Let him die
based on the way someone voted. If you ever wonder why people use superlatives to describe you, statements like this are why. Do better.

The issue is, whether this person knew it or not (they were being told) by voting the way they did, they were saying the exact same thing with their vote. If I'm not mistaken, before Obamas second term, the "penalties" could include prison time. Did this person give a damn that a person could die trying to pay the penalties, or die in prison, or was the person just as evil as the poster who said frick them, let them die?

Or that person was fed very bad information from a mainstream media using their power to promote propaganda. Not everyone is on tigerdroppings finding news sources other than what they are inundated with by the MSM.
But hey, yall keep on saying "frick them. let them die" to those that voted different from you. You're going to really win people over with that extreme bullshite. You're definitely going to entice people to listen to what you have to say and potentially make them realize their information sources are severely compromised. This is a winning strategy.
