So not only is she scared to debate, she doesn't care enough about charity to talk for 20 minutes. Great candidate

When Candace wins nomination for a Congressional seat, she'll be on the same level as Ocasio-Cortez and they can debate.

Until then....

Are you saying that simply winning a primary puts you on a different intellectual level than a political commentator? That seems weird to me

Ocasio-Cortez won a primary with a grand total of like 13000 votes. She isn’t some huge authority

Cortez...is that you?

This post is an example of why Cortez won't debate; because she has no truths to counter those of her Opposition...just un-based criticisms an un-deliverable promises of free stuff for everybody.

Cortez is in over her head; she'll catch it from the Left (who don't want to be outed as Authoritarian Socialist) and the Right who will use Her to expose the Left.

Her interview with Joe Rogan was almost cringeworthy. Having said that, I think she does a lot of good for the conservative cause. An outspoken, African-American woman who publicizes conservative viewpoints is what we need at the moment.

so will owens make this same offer to other dem candidates if aoc refuses?

or is the gop just looking for some gotcha moments against a young, inexperienced candidate?

if all we're looking for is healthy debate and making a donation to charity, the offer should continue

I agree 100% with this.
Joe Schmo off-the-street does not get dibs on debating Congressional Candidates.

At some point, this Debate-Challenge stuff passes pure futility and traverses into harassment territory. Might be the only way to make an office-seeking imbecile, like Ocasio-Cortez, appear to be a sympathetic figure.

Please list all of the "smart" Democratic members of Congress

This should be good for a laugh.

What do you base this on?
If you think Candace Owens isn’t very smart, then I’d hate to see what you think of the perpetually ignorant ocasio Cortez.

I can partially agree with this, but in the case of someone with credentials like AOC, one would imagine people would want to hear her articulate her points/stances. But then again, we are dealing with progressives and they really don’t care.

What makes AOC sit on a higher level than Owens? She does not hold office.

Probably smarter than Cortez, but I agree it doesn't make a ton of sense for her to be the face of capitalism and conservatism going up against the country's latest celebrity socialist

Intellectual level - not particularly.

Seriousness level - absolutely, especially when the commentator is a replacement-level Fox News idiot

She's been pretty clear about articulating both her points and stances throughout the campaign, and on her website / communications.

If you mean in a debate format, the Republican challenging her for the seat will probably get a shot.

So, where does this leave Ocasio-Cortez, relatively speaking?

I agree 100%

It's a sad reality of politics. No matter how smart the opposition, it means little if they have no real political power.

Somebody like Shapiro going up against her makes sense because hes a politician. Owen's is purely just a commentator (and not a real conservative one at that).

My personal feelings aside, she isn't important enough to be seen as anything but a distraction.

The day Owen's runs as a GOP candidate and wins, then we will see if her resolve is true or not.

Yep. She's riding the wave of token conservative commentators who are big on sizzle but short on substance. See Milo, Tomi Lahren, etc

She's not actually conservative

She was a liberal two-three years ago but coincidentally became a stanch conservative with the rise of people like Milo
