I think you've got it backwards. Lots of Americans who support Trump on a surface level won't be willing to excuse away American deaths in Iran. Especially if it looks like Ukraine and we're getting HD snuff videos of drones killing our guys, you'll see support erode very quickly.

What we do have deployted are three companies of Marines for three different types of raids as well as a detachment of Airborne to also conduct raids but deeper into Iran than the Marines.
