re: Trump says he doesn’t think there’s anything that’ll get him to heaven

The denial and refusal to embrace God's mercy is in and off itself enough to deny a person's entry into heaven. God's mercy is unfathonable, and His death on the Cross was such a powerful act of retribution as to literally open the gates of heaven to souls languishing in Limbo. and to give hope and salvation to prodigal sons and daughters in every age.
There is in the human heart a longing for authentic love. There is a longing for God. Hell is the absence of God.
God has a plan for each of us in this life - and that includes Donald J. Trump. Having said that, I believe brokering a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas is a big deal in the eyes of God.

Why would he be saying I'm not a Christian" in that context? It makes zero sense

Yeah, well, I've been here quite a while. It's amazing how offended 'saved Christians' get when the printed words from the Bible affirming all will be saved at the end of the eons shoot a hole in their belief in 'eternal damnation'. People don't know the true message from the Bible because they follow the leadership of ignorant ministers.

We shall pray for Trump.

The story of the rich man and the poor man, with Father Abraham and the mention of water, refers to the parable of **The Rich Man and Lazarus** found in **Luke 16:19-31** in the New Testament. Below is a summary of the story and the relevant verses.
### Relevant Verses: Luke 16:19-31 (NIV)
> **19** “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. **20** At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores **21** and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
> **22** The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. **23** In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. **24** So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
> **25** But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. **26** And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
> **27** He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, **28** for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
> **29** Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
> **30** ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
> **31** He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
Many scholars believe this was not a parable but an actual story since he names Lazarus by name. The whole point is to convey the dangers of torment and destruction that awaits those outside Christ. Scripture does not teach all will be saved, only those dressed in the righteousness of Christ.

Trump sounds like he is not sure he’s going to Heaven, or even if he believes or understands what form ’Heaven’ would exist as. He is honest, in that many Christians, Muslims, Jewish and most all Religions BELIEVE that they are ‘going’ to Heaven. The Easterns believe that “once you are on the road to heaven, you are ‘there’”. And all Religions (to my knowledge) believe that in one’s next life (progression to Heaven) that all people will be “rewarded according to their (specific) works”. I.e.,”he that seemeth sparingly…”. All religions believe that one’s heavenly scenario will NOT be equal, but tailored exactly to the individual’s beliefs and actions in this life. This model would explain the current conundrum of why some people are cursed in this life and others blessed from the start.
A lot of people are going to be really surprised, as God IS Love, and the measure of unity (love) that is in one’s heart will be the criteria upon which judgement and reward will be rendered. Jesus’s Gospel makes this very clear. I have no clue as to the genuine love in Trump’s heart, as he is human and could turn on a dime. As could I, minus Jesus’ (welcomed) intervention. He may value power and status over love. I know rich people who do and they can have my share.
An ignorant choice is not a valid choice. Certainly not eternal damnation worthy. That would be a disqualification for any supposedly righteous God. Knowing, and willfully choosing, as opposed to just choosing a particular Belief, is the only valid choice worthy of righteous or especially Absolute (one life and done, heaven or hell) Judgement.
Trump believes in Merit, and might see Jesus’s Mercy as being a form of ‘Welfare’, of the which many honest people and Capitalist abhor, and Marxists embrace. (Butler and the ear nws.) As does God and Mother Nature. Such a process assures only the best, otherwise Heaven becomes Hell.
IMO, I think when we leave the body, we experience Heaven/God. And we then truly see just where we stand, re the willful and knowledgeable choice to become that which we ‘worship’ as our highest value. Assuming that Love is that value, as opposed to Love’s Opposite. With an eternity before us to explore and create. At that point I would imagine that we then have an educated choice as to whether we go back to the imperfect bodily existence and continue the hard work (‘Purgatory’?) of transforming ourselves towards a heavenly character, or we request that Jesus just tap us in the head and we become as perfect as spiritually entity (no body) could become. And we then can stay in that heavenly realm.
As I do not have the vision or wisdom to know of that scenario, and totally BELIEVING that Jesus Christ is indeed THE Son of God, I will leave that decision up to Him when I reach that point. I think ‘what is bound on Earth is bound in Heaven”, and that Trump or anyone who does not choose to believe in Jesus while in the body, may not have this ‘Welfare’ option when out of it. Personally I’d to like to continue my Bodily progression such that I might have something of my own to make my Creator proud and joyful towards giving me a shot. That can change as the pain increases. God could have programmed Humanity never to ‘Fall’ if there was nothing to be gained of worth in said Fall.
One thing is for sure, we’ll all know pretty soon. I’m good with that.
I know. TLDR. What else is new on The Rant.

Self deprecating humor, obviously. He's a good man. He will end up where he's hoping to go. Same with all of us really. Some will just make it there faster than others.

He was probably asked a question in the gaggle, are you going to heaven, and he gave an answer that he thought was proper, who am I to say, I am not God/Jesus/the Creator. Of course there is a way to know, but many who think they are do not even make the Rapture (Marriage of the Bride (Church) unto the Groom (Jesus) Jesus says only 5 of the 10 virgins make it to heaven.
