Apparently, Trump is trashing DeSantis because he knows that DeSantis did too good of a job on COVID and in the general election DeSantis can't win because he didn't shut things down enough or make people mask enough.

If those swing voters see DeSantis’ way of handling COVID as a negative then those swing voters aren’t swing voters at all and aren’t voting for any Republican.

Surprisingly, we didn’t do bad here in Colorado during COVID. Polis was pretty levelheaded, and people were still leaving here in droves to go to Texas and Florida.

Not my personal preference of “politicking” but it worked very well for him in 2016 against GOP field and plays well to a sizeable portion of the base.
Will see if it works again.
At the end of the day, I just don’t want Potato and the SocialistDems coming out as the main beneficiaries due to GOP voters not coming back together.
