My son lives in St. John's County and their beaches never closed. He said DeSantis didn't actually close any beaches, it was left to local governments.

Seems to the DeSantis strategy. Let Trump exhaust as much ammunition as possible before officially entering. The stuff he’s already thrown out there will have worn off and if he throws it out again with DeSantis actually running the DeSantis team will most likely have a succinct counter to it already in the chamber. DeSantis just has to not give him new material.

Yep. He gave south Florida the tools to tighten down because they were a mess.
I enjoyed our beach time while the south Florida folks were locked down.
