As expected, Judge Cooper of the DC District today rejected Trump's latest attempt to have his name put on the Kennedy Center.

The President made it clear that if this isn't reversed on appeal (spoiler alert: it won't be), that he [as Chairman of the Board] won't make the necessary renovations to the Kennedy Center.

No word on what happens to the $257 million in funding given by Congress last year to renovate the Center.

Let it rot, then. We are not a banana republic and we don’t let our leaders put their name all over everything. If he’s remembered well, after he leaves power, his name will be memorialized.

I think the Court will ultimately have to appoint some Trustee to run the Center

Three government buildings named after Strom Thurmond, the Nancy Pelosi center at UC Berkeley, every presidential library, and many, many, many other buildings disagree.

As for the $$, they could, I don't know, give it back to us?

You really don't see the difference between those buildings and the The John F. Kennedy MEMORIAL Center for the Performing Arts?

By statute, the Center is a memorial ONLY to the slain president.

That's what Trump did the first time. He instructed that control be transferred to Congress. Trump never explained why he changed his mind that time.

Oh, he's been nothing if not transparent this term.

He's not hiding anything.

Imagine the reaction here if Obama did this

This may be one of the pettiest things a public figure has ever done. This is Nero or Caligula-esque.

I’m sure BBONDS will be here shortly to defend it

I firmly believe it's 'sunk cost' for his remaining die hards.

This is just pettiness from Trump. His need to rename everything is just emboldening the next Dem president to change those names to something else. Do we really want to get to a place where things have a new name every time we get a new president?

You're comparing this to a president's name being included on a presidential library?
