17 million dollars raised by Trump, you say? That's so weird.

Maybe Trump should just let it rot and use the money plus whatever more he can raise or come up with to build a new arts center and it can most definitely be named after him

He said so in that speech that was clipped and posted here recently. He admitted that bribing people for their votes was cheating (yes, he said that word). But like all of his sycophants, he justified it by saying that the other side cheats, so its o.k. for him to do it too.

Link his exact words and let’s see if your editorialized version is accurate.

How many votes does the chairman of the board get? How many total votes are there?

This is not true. I’ve pointed it out to you before.

Judge Cooper disagrees with you. But just so we're clear, MEMORIALS honor only the DEAD, correct?

Trump will never be memorialized.

You mean DISTRICT court judge Cooper?

The statute speaks specifically about plaques. Even for that there are exceptions. It says nothing about the name. Come on Hank. Stop being dishonest.

Imagine the reaction here if Obama did this

This may be one of the pettiest things a public figure has ever done. This is Nero or Caligula-esque.
Obama does actually have a cheap looking building named after him in Chicago.

Again with hating on our American lionheart of a POTUS all the sudden here but pump the brakes on comparing him to Nero, ffs.

Holy Cats. I looked this up for specifics. I didn't realize just how brazen the Trump take over was.

There are 36 general board members appointed by the President FOR SIX YEARS. There are 23 Ex-officio board members.

Here are the moves to make the voting Board members ALL Trump appointees.

First, despite the statute saying the general board members SHALL serve 6 year terms, Trump fired all the Biden appointees and replaced them with his own. No president had ever removed any hold-over general board members before.

Second, the Board voted that Ex-officio members COULD NOT vote.

All of this is in litigation, but the VOTING Board members are ALL Trump appointees.

So, in answer to your question, it appears that there are 36 VOTING Board Members. They include such independent luminaries as Lee Greenwood, Howard Lutnick's wife, Pam Bondi, and Caligula's horse (ok, I made up the last one...but this is some Caligula-level absurdity)

Here's the list (note President Trump is Chairman AND a Board Member):

The Kennedy Center Board of Trustees
Officers
President Donald J. Trump, Chair

Jennifer Fischer, Vice Chair

Sergio Gor, Secretary

John Falconetti, Treasurer

Elliot Berke, General Counsel

Members Appointed by the President of the United States
Brian D. Ballard

Pamela Bondi

Mary Helen Bowers

Hannah F. Buchan

Robert Castellani

Elaine Chao

Pamella Roland DeVos

Patricia Duggan

John Falconetti

Emilia May Fanjul

Lynette Friess

Sergio Gor

Pamela Gross

Lee Greenwood

Kate Adamson Haselwood

Laura Ingraham

Dana Kraft

Mindy Levine

Lynda Lomangino

Barbara Long

Allison Lutnick

Douglas Manchester

Laura Perlmutter

Catherine B. Reynolds

You would have laughed hysterically if ten years ago someone told you a president would pull this kind of shite.

frick you. I'm not Hank. I'm not being dishonest.

As I told you recently, the provision that you have referenced is only one of three controlling provisions.

Of course, it's the trial level judge. You think that's some gotcha? Judge Cooper clocks in at about a 10% reversal rate, so I think it's a good bet that the DC Court of Appeals will affirm. I don't know if the Supreme Court is REQUIRED to hear an appeal in this case. Do you?
