re: Trump is really taking the high road with Elon

I think Elon agreed to cutting tax incentives and other subsidies to his companies in the expectation of serious cuts across the board in all branches of government and the industries it subsidizes.
He agreed in principle with Trump's BBB at 30,000 ft above the legislative table.
However, upon landing it became clear that the uniparty had been laughing at him and Trump the whole time and the BBB, while containing many great things, compromises too much in raising the debt and ignoring the continuing pork.
I think Elon expected Trump, after having been shot, to play hard ball, use the veto power and bully pulpit in order to not continue the old ways of back room deals and pork packed bills. He expected Trump to make the DOJ and FBI to deliver justice.
Elon joined the MAGA movement because of Trump's "Fight, Fight, Fight! response to surviving an assassin's bullet. I think he admired Trump's balls and thought it presented an opportunity to change the status quo. That's why he offered his help.
Either Trump is desperate to get his BBB passed and is willing to compromise principles to do it, or is being advised to deal by uniparty plants.
They are all compromised and by dealing with them Trump appears compromised. That's why Elon brought up the Epstein accusations.
Elon expects Trump to hold Congress and the DOJ to the promises made to the American people.
When the Senate passes the bill back to the house and it is sent to Trump to sign, he should red line it from top to bottom requesting the removal of all pork and requiring no increase in the debt.
When the BBB is amended to meet his expectations and also when all the rescissions have been passed, unaltered from doge recommendations, then sign the BBB into law.
Otherwise Veto. Make them override.
Then Congress can own the pork and the Debt and Elon can help finance their exit from Congress.
Something happened, maybe somebody told Elon he was an idiot if he thought that was how it works, or he saw that Trump is in fact compromised.
Maybe he feels Trump is giving in to the political extortion from the very people that tried to kill him.
Maybe in a (possibly drug induced loss of control) he bluntly called it out and became enraged in a meeting. Rumors abound of him fighting with advisors.
Trump is notorious for being anti drug due to his brother and if those rumors are true he probably felt he had no choice but to step in and remove Elon from the administration meetings.
I hope Trump eventually fullfills Elon's and the promises made, and they reconcile for the good of the country.
Otherwise we all will have been completely disappointed by Trump and have no alternative but to fear the future.

Well, it was the first I had seen it. Of course, I admit I live a rather sheltered existence since the PB is my main social media outlet.

You have made a habit of responding with this paste & clip quote.
Are you a bot?
In any event, I didn’t miss anything Pandy — my reply was wholly relevant and on point to your entire comment.

You mistakenly missed this part too....
"Elon Musk isn't trying to "get" Donald Trump. He's not trying to send him to jail and he didn't try to keep him from becoming President. But if Donald Trump doesn't keep a civil tongue in his head (as he's wisely doing right now) then Musk can easily damage his Presidency. More so than what Trump could ever do on his own".

that Elon only dislikes the bill because it cuts EV subsidies (Elon is on record as actually advocating those cuts)
Elon's also on record claiming to be one of the top Diablo players in the world but then embarrassed himself by making comments about the game all the youtubers knew was bullshite.
Yes, the guy you are championing was a billionaire celebrity in his 50s but still felt the need to lie about being a top video game player for internet cred. This is the level of maturity you expect us to ignore while pretending a CEO that could lose 50% of his profit without subsidies really doesn't want them.
Let me guess. When your friend gets dumped and he says he didn't really like her anyways, you believe him.
You must be one of those naive folks I keep hearing about.

See how that works?

You think he won’t get another term?

I think it was planned to give Elon a chance to form a new Green 3rd Party and eliminate the MAGA movement after Trump’s term is up
You're on a roll today.
One terrible take after another.

Can’t pick a fight with everyone…and not picking a fight with the guy worth over $300 billion dollars and the equivalent of the best distributed newspaper in earth is a smart move.

This is all a fake feud to get the deep state off their trail. Trump and Elon playing eleventeen D chess. Yall about to see.

Trump on Elon's DOGE work: "Oh, I think it helped us a lot. We saved hundreds of billions of dollars."

Thank God we have a Trump and not a Bush in the WhitHouse!
Posted on 6/7/25 at 4:41 pm to stout
If he was smart, he’d call Elon and invite him to the White House to discuss strategy. See if he can get an apology out of him for face saving, then work with Senate Republicans to get some pluses for Tesla in the bill, as well as cut some of the pork.

Well.. he just lost the biggest donator
Once Trump won he had two years to implement what he wants.
There isn’t going to be much beyond that so musk not supporting Trump anymore means frick all for trumps future political ambitions.
And musk retweeted impeaching Trump and putting JD Vance in.
Well JD Vance supports the bill.
