Don't worry a judge will stop this EO just because it is Trump

We have the most neutered congress in history. They are absolutely worthless.

Don't know about you, but I know what I'm going to do with that time a few times per week.

The EO should just tell each state to find a time and stick with it. No more changing . Whatever works best for the state, stick with it.
Approximately half of the states have passed state laws swapping to permanent DST. Louisiana is one of them
We’ve been waiting on congress to allow states the ability to enact their laws

DST wasn't created for farmers. They work with the sun not a clock.

Absolutely not! Commerce and travel is to important on a national level to allow individual states to decide. This is one that the nation needs to agree on. Go research how we got standard time zones and how fouled up things were before the establishment. Railroad expansion along with telegraph and expanding Commerce is what drove standardization.
We don't need to go through that excersize again. Just imagine the chaos if neighboring states maintained differing hours.

It would certainly help out the IT world to not have to take measures to accomodate the change.

Just roll back 30 minutes in November and leave it alone from there.

I know I am in the minority, but I actually like the way it is now. Do I love daylight savings time? Yes, absolutely. But, at some point, the shorter days make the after work time kinda useless and I then start have no daylight before work which I actually use for yard stuff a little. It's shocking to ma how big of a deal some make out of the change.

So basically you make us like India.

It doesn't work like that. The spring forward is not such a problem, but falling back can cause some issues and some systems have to be paused or taken down for an hour for various reasons.

I'm with you. What's the big fricking deal? I think it's a pretty damn good system actually. As a political issue I think it splits pretty evenly so I'm even more surprised this is a thing. The current system seems the best option for both sides.
That being said, if we need to pick one, I'm picking Daylight Savings Time.

Yep keep the current time permanent and scrap standard time

We are so important that we get to say that doesn't apply to us.
Does that make deep sea critters equally important?

Correct. It was created to save energy costs....heat, a.c., lights. Several studies have shown that there is zero energy savings. So, it's pointless.
