You do realize that we are at 14.6k deaths now, and 1.6K were new today. If you're wanting 15K, check back tomorrow. The point is not the total deaths, or that more with die from the flu.....it is very simple, we are simply trying to mitigate so as to not overload the healthcare system all at one time. That's it, plain and simple. We possibly could not handle so many severely sick people at one time. Do you honestly think we are having FEMA and the National Guard re-purpose buildings, make large capacity quarantine wards, and move Navy hospital ships to these "hot spots" (NY, California, Washington) because this is "bull shite?" Ask Italy, which is about 2 weeks ahead of us, what they think about it being a farce and let us know what you find out.

Sadly we need to come to the realization that his tenure in office will be ending next January.

The Democrats hold 1/2 of Congress and enough votes in the Senate to hold up anything, even what they agreed to earlier, knowing that the MSM will blame it all on him.

And the one thing he had in his favor -- the economy -- is gone. It's no better now than when he took over. People vote their pocketbooks, and right now they're empty.

The worldwide death toll will crack 15,000 in the next few hours. If you are going to try to make a point don't use ridiculous numbers, it makes you look stupid. The current world death count is 14,616.

Keeping people away from other people is the only thing you can do. There are a lot of different ways to do this, some more extreme than others.

But this isn’t going away on its own. I mean, how could it?

I didn’t say it would go away on its own. But some people are standing up and saying we should just ride it out and deal with it. Right or wrong, they are owning their position. Others are calling them names, but won’t just come out and say that they think we should shelter in place until a vaccine is available. So, once again, what do you think that we should do?

If they are overwhelmed, why don’t they put current Nursing and Med School students to work and gain hands-on experience instead of doing online classes? I know they won’t be able to do the full scale of the job, but I feel like most of them are capable of taking vitals, starting IV’s, etc. and can free up the experienced nurses and doctors to handle patients that need more attention.

The issue is that critcal care and emergency medicine is a specialized field. It takes months to train nurses how to care for these patients and that is just giving them the bare bones knowledge. I won't even get into what it takes for doc.

A major problem is if these people get sick, then you have almost nothing to replace them with. That is why we need to be pumping out ppe right now, these people are irreplaceable in this situation.

Italy is the biggest outlier. That number will go down very soon.
They are the example of what can occur if we don't aggressively address it. Watch Spain and Iran for a week!

What is the media saying that is different than the daily task force press briefings?

What you going to do in a week, at day 15, when Trump doesn’t open things back up? Going to march on Washington?

I don't march on Washington for anything. I buy ammo and watch TV.

Why would he be taking the actions he's taking now if he didn't believe in it?

The hysteria reached a point that he has no choice. He either had to go all-in or be blamed for every single death.

I think we should have sheltered in place 2 or 3 weeks ago. We could have stopped the initial spread and contained it to a few areas. This also assumes good testing. Then we could relax somewhat and test everyone. It would have resulted in far less pain.

You might be right. I won’t even pretend to know. But, that doesn’t mean anything right now. I’m not trying to be an arse but you didn’t answer the question. What do you think we should do right now? Should we all shelter in place as long as it takes a vaccine to be released to everyone, no matter how long that takes?
