hysteria reached a point that he has no choice. He either had to go all-in or be blamed for every single death.
so you are claiming that Trump is going out everyday telling the whole country how serious this is... Because of hysteria. Ok... So Trump is incompetent and follows the winds of public opinion in that case.

Should we all shelter in place as long as it takes a vaccine to be released to everyone, no matter how long that takes?

It is either shelter in place or accept the deaths. It sucks, but those are the only two choices.

Every time he holds one of these hoax pressers, the futures market goes limit down. Why does a money man keep doing that?

May?

It’s already at 14600, 1600 died yesterday, and the rate is accelerating.

Regardless of your opinions on the overall situation that is a sufficiently stupid statement so disconnected from reality it colors everything else said.

Or send one out of 20 infected to the hospital.

Even if Trump would make such an announcement the media will find something wrong with it.

It is serious, from a certain perspective, and I'm sure he always believed that. It's not the black plague or widespread Ebola, as the media has played it up to be.

He is going along with the experts in his administration. He will put up with it long enough for the hysteria to settle down and then he will thank the American people for helping to limit the worst possible outcomes, take credit for his role in handling it, and probably say he was right all along about the hysteria being a hoax.

He sounds very weak. Why doesn't he have confidence in his own beliefs?

Yes, Trump pressers are the sole reason for the recent down days in the market. Traders do not buy or sell anything until Trump has spoken on that day..

Some deaths are unavoidable. No, I don't want to shelter in place.

because Trump didn’t sign up for this part of the job. He thought he would wear a suit and golf every day and the stock market would never go down.

If these delusions of yours help you to come to terms with the current crisis then I'll leave you to them.

A lot of you are missing the big picture here. It isn't just the Deaths from the virus (which keep increasing FYI) but also lives that can't be saved because of overrun hospitals.

people that go into serious conditions that aren't the virus won't have a chance to be saved if you can't get them in the hospital bed.

Tell the person's family that got bit by a rattlesnake, fell off his roof, hit by a car, etc. they could have been saved if we had more hospital beds but we were too worried about the economy and our paychecks to follow advice and stay home.

MONEY OVER EVERYTHING amirite.

No. We should have selectively quarantined the at risk population and kept the economy going.

We don't crash the economy to save 30k to 40k highway deaths every year? Why would we crash the largest economy in history for about that in a single acute event, for which we will develop treatment and a vaccine for next time?

The millenials are the ones getting hurt, since they all have low-paying jobs which are closing left and right.

SO's stepdaughter for one (again, trust me, no pics). And she's the biggest fan of wealth redistribution there is. She wants the world to pay for her bar-hopping, newest man, piercings and trashy tattoos (that's why I said you don't want pics).
