How long will this go on untill Trump is cleared?
Unfortunately months after our merry band of 4 or 5 dipshit RINOs vote to allow witnesses and it goes to court for a few months over asserted executive privilege.

After that scolding by AD last night, I would find it hard to believe that anyone would vote for the witnesses to be called!
At one point in college I thought I might want to study law and took a few classes in history of the Constitution. While he was speaking last night, it was the first time I ever regretted my decision to go into education, well not really the first, lol.
I was mesmerized as he spoke of what the founding fathers had to contemplate as they wrote the Constitution and how even back then, they knew that impeachment could be used as a partisan tool to remove a president just because a particular party didn't like him. AMAZING!
We really should take pause and appreciate these men and be grateful that by fate or God, whichever you choose to believe, they were brought together at the moment in time.

That's cause your not a politician. I'm speaking in generalities, but those 100 men and women locked in the chamber twiddling fidget spinners could not be more separated and distanced from mainstream America. I will never be able to understand and rationalize their thought processes, and it damned sure isn't because I'm just not as smart as them.

Anyone hear anything in regards to a vote being taken tonight in order to dismiss the charges?
Posted on 1/28/20 at 9:54 am to hogcard1964
I doubt they'll get to that tonight, but it depends on how long the President's attorneys go today... Sekulow said it was very unlikely they used their full 24 hours, and they hit a home run yesterday... so they may just do a summary/wrap up and finish early today. If that's the case, it is conceivable they begin voting on motions tonight, but I doubt they start on their 16 hours of debate until tomorrow morning.

Schmucky's holding a press conference right now, he's in desperation mode, claiming Trump's children have profited from Trump's presidency. The Dims are completely off the rails after yesterday's beat down.

View from the gallery: Senators’ personal habits on full display as week 2 begins
quote:
During a video of a Hunter Biden television interview, South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham put his thumb and pointer finger on the bridge of his nose, closed his eyes and shook his head.
quote:
As Eric D. Herschmann criticized lead House manager Rep. Adam B. Schiff for “running away” from the transcript of the Trump call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, and “making up” a conversation, Schiff sat just feet away and stared right at him, completely still, with his left leg crossed over his right and his fingers laced over his left knee.
The California Democrat’s face didn’t move as Herschmann repeatedly attempted to discredit him.
Later in the evening, Herschmann and Schiff were in a sort of stare down as Trump’s lawyer once again invoked Schiff and directed his arguments squarely at the House Democratic managers, rather than the senators in the chamber.
quote:
Louisiana Republican Bill Cassidy put his finger to his ear and swirled it around to clear an apparent blockage.
Vermont Independent Bernie Sanders used his right pinky to pick his nose, then reached into his jacket pocket for a tissue to wipe his face. Later he offered a mint to Wisconsin Democrat Tammy Baldwin, who accepted.
quote:
Speaking of coasters, former Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz, who seemed to enjoy himself as he delivered the day’s closing presentation for Trump’s impeachment defense, snuck himself a souvenir.
He took a sip of water while waiting to speak and noticed the standard Senate coaster. He admired it for a second, before placing it on top of his expanding legal folder.
After his presentation, Dershowitz slipped the three old legal books he brought into the folder, then slipped the coaster inside with them.

She got shredded by Tampa/St Pete shill liberal newspapers for being a republican and then really got it by supporting Trump from the beginning.

I seriously doubt they get to a vote before the Senators get to ask their questions.

No way they short circuit the two days of questions.

Where has all the media’s and social media’s Federalist Papers experts gone lately? You’d think they would have jumped in the mix after last nights lecture by Dershowitz
Last year they were procedures experts of the SDNY
Year before they were geopolitical experts on Syria and Russia
I know soon they will be experts in Crimean History.

How can such flagrant law breaking go unpunished? Senators are allowed water, milk, and chocolate, period.

White House attorneys just said they intend to be finished by dinner (I'd guess 5pm CST at the latest).
McConnell said they'll have one quick break in a couple of hours and that will be it for the day, so he also sees this being finished by dinner time.

I know you are being sarcastic, but these people are not held accountable to laws like you and I. The thought of punishment isn't in the deepest back of their mind.

Someone here previously wrote that there were 16 hours scheduled for written questions and answers. But I have not read anything about the process after Trump's lawyers finish so I cannot confirm that.

Philbin is like a slow motion Gatlin gun destroying the House managers' case.
Dude barely even has to look down at his notes.
