Just to be clear, I like RDD. I'm very disappointed in his performance, and would have supported him. But after Trump's Banana Republic J6 DC indictment, IMO the republic needs to reelect Trump to rip the guts out of the leftists' BS. So barring something catastrophic, my primary vote will go to Trump. It's part of the message "Never Again!" We cannot have a partisan weaponized DOJ. We cannot allow it any semblance of a win in its current path. None. Even if Trump and DeSantis were electoral toss-ups, my vote would fall to Trump in the primaries for that reason. There can be no quarter. That does not mean I'm a fan of all Trump does. Far from it. As I've said, I hate the BS he's tossed at DeSantis. I wish he'd focus on Biden and a more genteel personna. But the situation is what it is.

So you let the left control your actions.

It’s ok.

what position carries more weight. Chairman of the covid task force (along with being VP) or President of the United States. Hmm that's a tough one.

So you are saying a businessman should not listen to the advice of medical experts when it came to Covid? He was thrashed through the media for not allowing people to come in from china in february...Biden called him racist for doing so and the media ran with it.

How do you figure that?
Given the cards he was dealt, he did as well as he could have. So did DeSantis.

No.
They control their own actions.

I control my response.

Apparently you'd reward them for their actions.
It's OK.
Some folks are just more timid, and shirk away from retaliation.
Just understand who you are.

I still don't understand why Trump doesn't do a mea culpa on covid stuff.
Becuase he doesn't have to, he'll continue to lie, and his base doesn't care that he lied, and they'll defend him and pretend he didn't lie.

I am surprised by this emotion-driven position from you. You're typically a pretty level-headed thinker and express yourself that way. Trump being victimized by the Left does not automatically make him the best to lead the counteroffensive and given the totality of 2020, I think his willingness and/or ability to do so should be questioned.

A question - if your life depended on Republicans passing a decidedly "conservative" and controversial piece of legislation and the Senate was R+2 and the House R+10, who would you rather have as POTUS - Trump or DeSantis?

Stuff like this is relative to each person. Maybe if your dad abandoned your family as a kid, or was an alcoholic wife beater, fricking a porn star or two isn’t the worst thing in the world. You can believe if I was a billionaire I’d be fricking more than a couple.

And this line of thought when evaluating a political candidate is so immature. Your premise presupposes people selected Trump vs an infinite array of potential candidates and that Trumps qualities are the ones we most prefer during a utopian political time period when America is at her strongest.

not at all. but there was a thread the other day talking about how trump was a family man and wanted to bring back the nuclear family and a bunch of cult45 members got all pissy for posters having the audacity to ask....which time was he a family man?

was it when he was cheating over and over again on his first wife, very publicly i may add?

or

was it when he left her despite having 3 kids with her

or was it when he cheated on "the most beautiful first lady" with a fricking porn star

trump is anything but a family man, thats ok, just dont try to convince me other wise and get mad if someone questions it if you do

as far as the comment about fricking more than a couple porn stars if you were a billionaire....well that says a lot about you that you would cheat on your wife and frick up your family just because you have money...not to mention the fact that you would frick a porn star....well that says alot about you as a person. you might not like that but if the shoe fits....lace that mother fricker up and wear it.

some things he is great on...usually the things he doesnt run his mouth about. Foreign policy for example.

Do you know the specific terms of Trumps marriage? You assumed he was cheating when it’s quite possible that was not a problem for Melania. Or any woman I might marry if I was a billionaire.

But whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

Who do you think, would make a better President, Trump or DeSantis, if none of the J6 stuff was an issue?

and i dont need to feel better about myself. I work my arse off for my family to give them an amazing life, i dont cheat on my wife and treat her amazing and im a damn good father....and pretty damn good citizen in my community helping people all the time.....i dont really need someones affirmation about me to feel good about myself. being a good person and living the things we preach on here tends to take care of that.

live your creed though bro

Good question.

Six-months ago, I'd have might have tilted to DeSantis, though it would have been very close. But RDD is just not connecting. He seems unable to make his case.

His policies are not '¡Jeb!', but his personality painfully approximates it. That's been a real disappointment

In a world where the national MSM would viscously attack him, if RDD is unable to effectively bring his case to the people, he'd struggle in the White House.

So at this juncture, and unless DeSantis can figure it out, IMO Trump would be far better.

He did a great job of making his case to Florida for '22.

Any chance the reason he can't seem to make his case today is because of the overly emotionally charged Republican electorate that bristles at the mere questioning of DT?

It’s the majority’s fault. If only they were different.

Dems slapped half of America in the mouth with a BS election.
They've done it again with the weaponized DOJ.
They intend to show you that no conservative outside of the political establishment will ever again be allowed to attain the WH.

Faced with that kind of proposition, my tendency is to plant a foot up their backside with enough force to correct the behavior and leave a meaningful memory.

Others, like yourself, are turn-the-other-cheek type folks. Often there's not much harm in a timid conflict-averse approach. It certainly requires less initial energy.

If Dems and the MSM are willing to cheat and weaponize the law to keep nonpolitical types out of the White House, rather than fight back, you move to the next guy. That's certainly your prerogative.
