I'll never understand how we've gotten to this place. So many Republicans are willing to look the other way while Trump lies with impunity. They've even decided to join him and amplify his lies.

People rightly point out when someone like Biden lies but when Trump does it... crickets.

It's embarrassing.

We used to be the party with principles. Now we think we're winning by playing the game Democrats have mastered.

This is the part of the Trump phenomenon that blows my mind. He can make the most dumb as a post comments and his followers and many pundits just blow it off.

Two things come to mind -

1) he lies knowing his followers don't care or are too stupid to know he is lying

2) he is in mental decline

The official language reads that Trump awarded individuals that participated in Warp Speed.

It does not say the warp speed team.

Even Milley is on the list. It is indeed the gotcha we think it is.

You’re just saying things now that mean nothing. This response makes zero sense based on what you were replying to and you’re twisting yourself into a pretzel to make it fit.

I'm only backing Trump because he's the only one with a chance and he is the one who will be running against Biden. If I make a switch in my mind, that's not going to change anything. DeSantis has zero chance against Trump. Not a small chance. Zero chance.

You could have just said “yes” to the previous post since you just confirmed exactly what he said.

Now we have a Presidential citation awarded supposedly in the chaos of his final day in office, where we know people like Milley were in open rebellion, and of which Trump claims he was unaware. Is it possible he's telling the truth? At what point does the man earn a SINGLE INSTANCE of benefit of doubt from you folks?

I find it interesting that you somehow believe him being so unaware of what is going on in his administration that someone was issuing awards in his name to the guy responsible for giving the cover of crashing the economy, changing up the elections and putting this country in crazy debt is a reasonable excuse

Not sure what planet you are living on. Even the WaPo had an article out this past week that Biden should not run. The majority of DEMs don't want him to run.

Neither needs to be President.

same reason they dont care that he spent like a crazy person while in office....they only care that their guy wins and says middle school type insults at their "enemies"

frick the country and principles....how dare someone have principles.

these are the same people that think Trump is a good family man and justify him fricking porn stars on the side like its normal.

It's just math.

In this case, we have a guy that admits he prefers DeSantis but stated he's still supporting Trump because he's leading. Is he the ONLY one that feels that way?
Just to be clear, I like RDD. I'm very disappointed in his performance, and would have supported him. But after Trump's Banana Republic J6 DC indictment, IMO the republic needs to reelect Trump to rip the guts out of the leftists' BS. So barring something catastrophic, my primary vote will go to Trump.

It's part of the message "Never Again!" We cannot have a partisan weaponized DOJ. We cannot allow it any semblance of a win in its current path. None. Even if Trump and DeSantis were electoral toss-ups, my vote would fall to Trump in the primaries for that reason. There can be no quarter.

That does not mean I'm a fan of all Trump does. Far from it. As I've said, I hate the BS he's tossed at DeSantis. I wish he'd focus on Biden and a more genteel personna. But the situation is what it is.

Stuff like this is relative to each person. Maybe if your dad abandoned your family as a kid, or was an alcoholic wife beater, fricking a porn star or two isn’t the worst thing in the world. You can believe if I was a billionaire I’d be fricking more than a couple.

And this line of thought when evaluating a political candidate is so immature. Your premise presupposes people selected Trump vs an infinite array of potential candidates and that Trumps qualities are the ones we most prefer during a utopian political time period when America is at her strongest.

Tump didn’t hire Fauci. He was NIAID director from 1984 to 2022. Trump made him part of the Covid task force along with Birx, HHS Secretary Alex Czar and others. Mike Pence was the chairman.

This is a weak deflection, let's see what position carries more weight. Chairman of the covid task force (along with being VP) or President of the United States. Hmm that's a tough one.

Trump was the President of the USA, the buck stops at him. If you give him praise for things done under him you must also acknowledge he was responsible for shortcomings unless you'd like to be a yes man.
