Taxpayers are now minorities. Do we get special privileges like the other minorities?

If the deficit is 2 Trillion, how will reducing revenues close that gap?

Every dollar of tariff income should be used to pay down debt

Additionally, we should cut spending by sane amount each year.

Collect $500 billion? Pay down $500 billion of debt, then at same time cut spending by $500 billion.

What did we do before the 16th amendment?
Had a far less bloated federal government, for one.

Tariffs brought in around $195 billion this fiscal year.
The military budget alone runs $875–$890 billion depending on the year.

So even if you shut down everything except the Pentagon, tariff revenue wouldn’t cover a quarter of it.

I'm all for it but the problem is spending and that needs to be resolved first.

Yes, I understand that.

Would you like some information on the investment opportunity?

Only $5,000 upfront and we expect a 10,000% return over six months.

Oh I can answer this one, Alex. Cutting taxes will generate economic activity that then creates additional revenues for the government to tax. Works every time it’s tried.

Lowering tax theft to those you earned the money is not the same as giving away money to those who didn’t…..

Me too, but $195 billion is 2-3% of the current budget without paying a dollar of debt so Trump needs to slash at a far higher level. The proposed doge cuts are a rounding error compared to what would have to happen.

Cutting taxes would be awesome for the minority of us that actually pay them

That’s not how it will work it will be like the 2K checks, income limitation and the tax “cut” with be done as a low income tax credit with non (real) taxpayers reaping the benefit.

I sure don't want this to happen but he has made some pretty wild proclamations in recent weeks. Did he say "completely cut" or commensurate to the tariff income? This isn't 1775.

This will happen, likely not until his last year.

20 trillion in new investment pouring into the country now but will take a couple of years to re-onshore the manufacturing and get the economy going in supercharged mode.

Corporations / businesses will still be taxed as will high income individuals making above $400K or something like that.

Between the tariff income and increased corp tax income from the economy going through the roof, the middle class will no longer need to pay federal income tax.

Need to get all the greedy hands out of the till also. Spending cut in half or more, federal government reduced in size. Example: Dept of Ed is going away.

Elimination of income tax for the middle class will supercharge the economy even more with all of the subsequent investment resulting in business tax revenue going up to replace some of it.

State income and property tax also to disappear, replaced by interest income from new state credit unions. Abbott & DeSantis already talking about it.

Big banks fricked, Americans freed from debt slavery.

Welcome to the Golden Age.

Elon is saying in the future work will be optional, yet you can’t even envision the end of the endless re the Fed and income taxation.

When you realize how many people don’t pay taxes this makes sense.

It just boggles my mind that we bring in around 225k at my house and $80,000 goes to taxes when income, property, and sales taxes are all figured up. People look at me like I got worms coming out of my eyes when I say things like “can’t we get rid of the admin piece of our police dept and let the sheriff handle it”, or “maybe if we got rid of all these people at the school board office we could lower the property and sales tax rate”. These people that benefit from government spending have this massive sense of entitlement of my hard earned money. Why am I the one that gets looked at like I’m nuts? Their employment is taking my money and the jobs just aren’t needed.
