The setup for the Dylan Mulvaney joke was absolute shite. A better way would have been something like...

Yes Reagan definitely delivers better but Trump wasn’t bad. Better than a Biden, Obama 2 Bushes & a Carter. Clinton was slick so he may have done well too

True! I think Trump’s problem with that joke is that when you are speaking to a large audience you have to signal the punchline with a change of inflection. In that way the audience is alerted to it. Of course, the Trump haters weren’t laughing no matter what.
