Trump makes an address from the Billings Airport

And honestly, Billings is a very cool airport if you’ve ever been there. The airport is on top of a huge plateau that overlooks the city and you really feel perched up. It’s a cool place honestly so Trump isn’t wrong.

Have you heard about the new Boeing planes?

No shite! I'd fly on Trump's plane waaaaaay before I'd fly on a new Boeing.

The airframe is that old but just had new engines and paint job. Apparently new avionics too, there is a video on youtube.

Something does not smell, good lord...

Elon better have it plane, double and triple checked...

I think he intends to be in a heavily modified and upgraded Boeing 747-200 in January. If he lives that long.

33 year old plane with new engine and avionics is basically a new plane.

Most folks don't understand as much.

If you don't need the depreciation there's no reason to own a newer plane.

Meh hydraulics are dual redundant.

that's what I thought. Time or newsweek did a long story on Trump's obsession with his planes and maintenance.

so something is off.

Pratts or Rolls Royce? 757’s and hydraulic failures go together like peas and carrots.

Triple redundant.
Left, right and center.

Nonsense. The 757 is the best passenger jetliner ever built. Of course I'd tie an inner-tube between two trees and launch myself to my destination before getting on a socialist built Airbus.

You obviously know nothing about the B757.

RR RB211's. Flew this aiecraft for nearly 20 years. It's been a while but I seem to remember 60K thrust a side for an aircraft, at least the one's we flew, whose max TO weight was 240K.

Do the math!

Also, triple backup on the hydraulic system. I can assure you no one was in any danger.

I flew them for about four years. We had both Pratts and Rolls Royce. Loved the Rolls in the summer because it started fast so you could get the packs back on quickly before the flight deck turned into a sauna. Also liked having an N3.

Hydraulic problems were not rare events though.

Flew the B757 out of PHX. Never left one passenger, gal of fuel, or any cargo behind because of performance issues, summer, winter, whatever.
BTY, I landed in PHX with a hydraulic failure. We had to declare the emmergency but it was pretty much routine.

Folks don't seem to understand that a system putting out 3000 psi will have failures. Hence the back up systems.

Fly Safe!

No, he does not. The 757 is an impeccable aircraft made in a time of great American patriotism and competent workers.

Exactly. I’d rather fly in a 30 year old plane right now knowing it’s higher quality that what is being produced today.
