Well, that is the way the Constitution was originally written.

Trump isn’t going to abolish the federal income tax but I like the rhetoric.

If there was a way to do it a replace with a federal tax on consumption, not only would it be more fair but it’d possibly overcome any shortfall.

And we can’t talk about this without talking about spending. The government needs to control their friggin spending

He does not have a plan. Does not even intend to craft one even for fun. He knows this idea resonates with people on a gutteral level, so he disingenuously panders....and the crowd goes wild.

Democrats do the same thing on healthcare....what they don't tell you is ACA was a payoff to big insurance companies and hospital groups....largely via your wallet and the tax code

What do all the people who have posted on this board time and time again about how "everyone should pay at least some taxes so everyone has skin in the game" say about this?

Holy shite, you are one dumb bastard.

All federal taxes is not the same as federal income taxes.

Social security and Medicare Ponzi schemes rely on current receipts and that is not changing anytime soon. If we ever got into opt-out election discussions, we might be getting somewhere but we are nowhere close.

I'm not complaining, I laugh at the boldness of the pander.

Alas, Trump has become a scumbag politician now that he learned he can get away with grandiose pandering like those he criticizes.

He may join the Swamp Club with this.

At this point, specifically because the money printer going brrrrrrr, federal income taxes are no more than a way to coerce and control taxpayers. They will on the one hand destroy your life over $5k and then give billions to Ukraine and 1000 other money pits. All while printing so much money that yours ceases to have any real purchasing power.

They can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube. Every one I know ask this question.

Obviously, my comment was sarcasm. When the government injects more money into the system, they cause inflation which is a hidden tax. Lately the federal government has been secretly taxing us into oblivion. I doubt Trump gets spending under control, but I do hold out a little bit of hope that Elon can persuade him as efficiency czar to at least curb spending somewhat.

Eliminate income tax
Tariffs on imports
National sales tax on non essential goods. Raw meat, vegetables, fruits, and staples no sales tax but processed foods are taxed along with any prepared food from stores or restaurants. This encourages healthier eating. Also on top of tariffs, goods made overseas or containing over 50% of parts made overseas are subject to higher sales tax than domestically made goods to encourage buying American made products.

Progressive corporate tax rate brackets based on gross revenue and number of employees. 5%, 10%, 15% in order to help small businesses

The tax code is about control. Any simplification of it results in less control. Do you really think congress is going to give up any control?
