One of the dumbest things about this board is the number of people who think any government spending is socialism and that the government should never spend money for the greater good.
These same people would bitch about the hoover dam that provided electricity to millions and allowed cities to grow economically beyond what was naturally possible.

Oh please. I'm an old school conservative, but unlike so many of you fake conservatives I believe there is a place for good public policy and reasoned deliberation. Trump does not exhibit any of this . This is a policy position he takes because of just as bad policy decisions that he made on the recent past. So he takes a bad policy and then doubles down on it. That's just bad management.
You won't see me defending Bernie Sanders on any level. Unlike you though I do not exempt the public from responsibility for the policy decisions of the politicians. Republicans bitch about certain policies and modes of governing and still continue to advocate for it because of muh taxes, meanwhile they just issue more debt and then shift it to the taxpayer ultimately

People like him only like welfare for people who don’t work not people who grow food or create jobs
Though I’d much prefer farmers and others get to be profitable due to low regulations, low taxes, low inputs and strong sales with little govt intervention but unfortunately that’s not the situation we have. And the high inputs are directly caused by govt policies and the solution is always relief money rather than fix the root of the problem
