So what do you suppose would happen if a sitting President murdered someone while in office?

this issue was discussed around that time. you would remove him from office and then prosecute.

Nope. That was part of his opening statement, not part of his response to Mr. Lieu.

And why did this not happen in the case of the crimes of obstruction....given your prior statement "if he was anyone but the POTUS he would have been arrested for obstruction of justice"?

you're right it was before but this only proves my point more.
RM was never going to say he committed a crime from the start.

That statement was more in line with his report, and with his earlier opening statement to the Judiciary Committee, where he said, "Based on Justice Department policy and principles of fairness, we decided we would not make a determination as to whether the President committed a crime. That was our decision then and it remains our decision today."

because you have to have the votes to remove him from office. they dont.
our side was never gonna vote Trump out for those statements.

The discussion with Mr. Lieu was in regards to using the OLC opinion.

Mueller recanted that statement which negates the entire exchange he had with Mr. Lieu.

For the record.... I'm in no way for impeaching trump. he has done a decent job and probably deserves another term but that doesnt stop me from having issues with things he does. some of the things he has done would have me livid if a DEM President did it.

"I believe a reasonable person looking at these facts could conclude that all three elements of the crime of obstruction of justice have been met, and I'd like to ask you the reason, again, you did not indict Donald Trump is because of the OLC (the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel) opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?" Lieu asked.
"That is correct," Mueller asked.

Mueller corrected that statement a few minutes later by saying
Before we go to questions, I want to add one correction to my testimony this morning," Mueller told the panel. "I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, 'You didn't charge the president because of the OLC opinion.' That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime."

He didnt recant the DOJ policies and practices to not determine whether or not trump committed a crime.

from the beginning RM was never going to make a determination o whether or not trump committed a crime.

it's the DOJ policies and practices.....

Not sure exactly which statement(s) you are referring to, but regardless, this appears to be a change in tune as far as Mueller indirectly concluding that Trump committed crimes, specifically obstruction. There was a tad bit of crowing from Dems that obstruction was a foregone conclusion. Such definitive statements would seem to be followed by "removal and prosecution".

Obstruction is a felony and Dems would eaten that up IF they had a strong enough case. They simply arent going to EVER give Trump a pass on even the most minor of crimes where sufficient evidence exists. The fact that they didn't "remove and prosecute" tells the whole story.

Nah. I think impeachment is stupid (at least for those hoping to get Trump out.) But I really have been wondering all along what caused Pelosi to switch. She has been VERY against impeachment this whole time.

Perhaps because she was doing ads for a Ukraine Gas company her son was "involved" with?????? Ya think?
