By design.
If our leaders did what was necessary for the survival of the Republic they would lose their elections. Our system is one that punishes its elected officials for doing the right thing. It is corrupt and irredeemable.

I don’t understand why folks get so very upset over any criticisms at all.
The way it’s taken personally is quite strange.
This place zero affect on DC yet folks act like criticism is un-American. Some folks need to toughen up and limit their intake of reactionary pills.

Seriously?
You’re asking poster on an LSU message board to propose an alternative bill!?
No one here has the qualifications to do that

Because they see it as an attack on Trump and defending Trump is all that MAGA is about,

Most of the loud mouths are here to bitch, whine and complain. They have no solutions, only complaints. No matter what, they are going to complain about the Big Orange Meanie.

It’s got way too much stuffed into it that is policy instead of budget related
WTF does it need to include Preventing Restrictions on AI?
Budget should be a separate bill
Create other Smaller bills that are targeted to a specific purpose

I get that but I just don’t understand why.

Primo example
I have a solution and it was also mentioned above. Break the bill down into smaller pieces. Now what? There’s an offered solution to the Big Bloated Bill.
Does that make you happy? No.
Carry on with your TDS this and TDS that shtick.

Trump should have pressured for deep spending cuts. What happened to the art of the deal? He could have used his 40 million hardcore supporters to make the house and senate republicans lives hell until they bent to his will.
The problem is, it wasn't his will.

You say this knowing several suggestions were already mentioned. Are you ignorant or stupid?
1) No extension of the debt ceiling.
2) No added $2.6 trillion in spending
3) break it up into smaller, spending only bills.
4) Cut fricking government waste. Elon was trying to do this, then was stabbed in the back with this bill.
5) Washington is still using the Biden cost estimates for things. Elon has proven that their is an absurd amount of waste in every bill passed. Yet these incompetent tards and their supporters (YOU) still think you need $2.6 trillion to cut spending. It makes zero logical sense.
6) "Well we have to increase the debt ceiling to pay off the interest". This is the mind of an addict who doesn't understand how money works. If i run up my credit card bills, and max out; a smart person wouldn't keep requesting my credit limit to increase. A smart bank wouldn't accept it, especially if that person has a history of not being able to pay off that debt. What a responsible adult does, is goes through all of their expenditures, and starts cutting everywhere they can to be able to manage the payments. This pile of shite bill is weak leadership by Johnson (no big surprise) and Trump being desperate because he said he was going to pass the bill and doesn't want his ego tarnished if it doesn't get passed. Admitting this bill is a failure doesn't mean you don't love trump. IT's ok to oppose it. But, so many of the usuals are so in love with a politician that you will accept ANYTHING he gives you, even if it fricks you and your family over in the end. That's called idol worship.
This bill is NOT Americans first.

Most ppl don’t know, they just say cut it. Outside of the cuts that have been identified most of the spending is mandatory spending, which is what have been passed through laws, and paying interest. Anyone who has taken Macro in college should have done a budget project and there are things you can cut and things you cannot. Here is an infographic from 2016 that is similar to what the project consists of. I asked this in another thread and there were no serious replies. Find the cuts because you can’t just say cut the military by 10% or cut social welfare by 10% and expect there not to be severe consequences or risk of hurting the economy.

See Tucker Carlson talking about Ron supporters and how they attack everyone. They think they’re innocent when they’re worse than maga.

1) The BBB is not getting 60 votes in the senate. They are attempting to pass it via reconciliation which requires a simple majority.
True.
IMO the two "must haves" are the extension of the 2017 tax cuts and the Medicaid work requirements which can be passed via reconciliation.
To me, everything else in the bill is fluff. The BBB needs to slimed down. It should not increase the deficit.

Tucker summed then up perfectly

Yep. Pretty sad Ron’s base turned everyone off of him including Tucker. Even worse they still don’t see the writing on the wall of how mid he is and how bad they are.

What bill do you propose they pass that will do everything you want and get 60 votes in the Senate?
I don’t want a single bill to do everything I want. Omnibus bills are garbage receptacles for wasteful spending and pork.
Single issue bills, period

Right now? None. The same could be said in 1980, but Reagan’s trouncing of Carter changed the picture, and some Dems supported Reagan’s agenda out of self-preservation.
Reagan won with an actual landslide. Today's "landslide" or "mandate" is razor thin. There aren't ten dems who need to self-preserve.
