The officers involved have been fired after internal review, so they’ve already been punished. Their own department has determined wrongdoing.
The only question now is will criminal charges be filed, which seems like a foregone conclusion.

At this point, any department which hasn’t trained its officers that just because a person is talking doesn’t mean they can’t breathe should be sued as soon as one of these unfortunate events happens. And they should lose millions. And it should come out of the raises and pay of the police officers on the force.

This to me is one of those cases where it doesn't really matter to me what happened prior to the recording. He could have shot at those cops, and those cops would still be wrong. There is zero excuse to treat a suspect this way. Zero. They could have easily cuffed him and gotten off his neck.
This is bullshite and those cops should fry. I generally give them the benefit of the doubt... but not this time.

Law enforcement are trained on these tactics/procedures. They just don't willy-nilly do stuff in most cases. The tactics look harsh to me, but my only run-in with LEO was a public intoxication charge that was dropped in college walking home from a bar. I was cuffed and stuffed and cooperated. Slept on concrete for 4 hours and was released. That's my experience.
A better argument for you, assface, would to be against the training. The training for most/all U.S. LEOs is to get deesclation through their own escalation. Western Europe do the opposite, but they don't have armed citizenry. The field and its results are the ultimate test case so these tactics are probably correct. Its unfortunate the individual died.

I don't think there is any control technique where you kneel on someone's neck, and continue to do so for several minutes after they go limp.
