These are the refugees we should take in. They are educated and industrious.

That's why they don't have a chance in hell of ever making it here unless they come across the southern border

What’s sad is that we are a nation under an active invasion at the border currently.

They can’t feed their own people their military would be ineffective quickly imo. I also don’t think the world would let them get away with it. Its one thing to be an a-hole but making moves isn’t in their favor.

Amphibious assaults are difficult and costly. We were expecting a million casualties in operation Downfall. China can expect something similar. If US submarines are active it could be far worse. If Taiwan is taken China will take a pounding, loss of a large part of their navy and massive casualties. Then comes guerilla warfare for years

This. With the weapons we and they have now, they would be wasting thousands of soldiers in an amphibious assault. No way, unless they have absolute aerial and naval superiority. It is ridiculous to even consider that kind of an attack.

I recall a story about Russia amphibiously invading around Odessa from the Crimea early in that war. I called the OT Warrior out and said the same thing. Guess what? It didn't happen and I have not seen him post much on the PT since. I know I am no Patton or Eisenhower, but I do have the ability to critically think and understand the risks of something like this.

No way.

Biden seems (probably is) compromised

Australia and New Zealand seems so as well

Japan doesn’t have a large military

France, Germany, and England (really, ALL of Western Europe) would implode via civil unrest by the Muslims.

Canada admires China

India does are about Taiwan

So who would intervene?

Kind of ironic considering Taiwan quite literally ran from China.

China will launch a massive cyber attack against our electrical and information infrastructure as well as a biological attack against the civilian population. They need Taiwan to surrender before the industrial strength of the US can be brought to bear against the Chinese fleet. If we can restore a lot of the mothballed ships and aircraft in time to take action against the Chinese invasion fleet, it will be all over for the Chinese. No one does orchestrated set-piece battles better than us.

the important thing right now is to get our own microchip/semiconductor industry up and running with the quickness....don't know how we allowed ourselves to be reliant on a foreign country for such an important technology.

once that's done, we need to stay the F out of this conflict. there's no way we can keep china from taking taiwan...its going to happen whether we like it or not.

Hopefully these mentally ill people are retired this time next year.
Our grandfathers who stormed the beaches of Normandy and Iwo Jima are rolling in their graves at these panty hosed man-pansies.

This must be corrected feelings being hurt or not. This must be corrected.

They would conduct a blockade for months, while continuously bombing Taiwans coastal defenses. After a few months the amphibious assault would occur.,

China believes that Taiwan is simply part of China

If it’s really part of China, why are they having to mount an invasion or broker a “reunification” deal? The very definitions of “invasion” and “reunification” imply that Taiwan is not part of China.

While they may be preparing for it, this is propaganda bullshite right here. This isn’t a sign that it may occur.

Just to put it in perspective, if China were to do this, the force would have to be at least five times the size of the Normandy invasion of D-Day. They can’t take them by surprise unlike the Allies did back then, so we’ll long see this coming.

Xi will almost certainly do a false flag operation before it and then announce his plans to the world before doing it. There will be a massive presence in China’s SE coast that they won’t be able to hide, so they have to do a false flag to justify the invasion.

There will be an address from the Oval Office before the invasion. So yes while this is indeed quite possible, it won’t be until at the very earliest late June. You’ll know this invasion before it happens.

Taiwan has some formidable defenses, but China can take Taiwan if they want to. Taking Taiwan without destroying everything in the process is another story. That's always been the rub.

Well that is the goal of China. Unlike Russia with Ukraine, China is majorly after their infrastructure, so this will be a meat grinder campaign.

Nonsense.

Or, rather, you assume the world would sit aside and let them perform these blockades and continuous bombings.

The submariners would like to have a word with you.

Japan doesn’t have a large military

Not in terms of ground forces, but they have the world's 2nd most powerful expeditionary navy. Historically speaking, continental powers with large coastlines have always been preyed upon by maritime powers. In 1904-1905 Japan sunk the entire Pacific Fleet and Baltic Fleet of the Russian Empire in 2 battles. They couldn't take us, but the Japanese Navy can go toe to toe with anyone else. Also, China having ships means nothing if they can't actually fight with them. China has no experience whatsoever with maritime combat whereas we invented modern naval combat.
