If things really turned up on the world stage, could we even pull off a draft? Could you even begin to imagine the gender/racial/“religious”/LGBQT exceptions that would be created? It would be a total cluster and we have no leadership or courage in DC that would make it work. We truly are an Empire in decline.

Dudes would be identifying as women.

Then they would have to make women eligible for the draft.

Then the population would become more anti-war.

Is it even necessary for a draft anymore, when a World War would likely turn into an all out missile war?

Hmmmm, when I registered for the draft during the VN war I was listed as 5-8, 110 (fully clothed). I asked about the limit and the guy said '4 pounds lighter and you'd be 4F. But we'd have to check you for weight loss drugs.'
I said: 'No drugs. It's called lack of food.'

So, I know there's a 'too light' limit. I wonder what the 'too fat' limit is these days. The young folks today might have some issues with that.

The threat to the US is already here. There is no doom and gloom that they could sell us that is worse than what's currently going on.

I bet more than 30% of draft eligible young men have not registered for the draft, particularly in urban areas.

How about this…

Every single Senator, Representative, and Administration official that votes or approves of sending American troops into a war zone must provide a son or daughter, spouse, or in absence of either another immediate family member to actively fight in the war zone with the deployed troops.

Our military is weakened enough with the bad leadership and policies already in place.

If the shite really hits the fan, I mean really hits it the red knock brigade is out only hope.

No, we couldn’t pull off a draft these days.

We can’t get enough qualifying people in a volunteer military for a variety of reasons and the level of training we give for volunteers is far above what we would give to draftees.

A draftee army would be a complete and utter clusterfrick like Vietnam after McNamara et all expanded the pool of who was draft eligible, ignoring that prior draft boards had considered a number of people 4F for a reason.

My dad got drafted at the time there was an expanded pool for this reason. They had entire units of people they wouldn’t trust holding a pointed stick who were in uniform and deployed but not allowed to do anything lest they accidentally kill themselves or intentionally kill their officers.

No need for a draft. Just offer military jobs to eligible immigrants. Let us pay you to fight, or you're going back home.

If the clowns in Washingtons commit this county to another endless war, based on factual military manpower data that is not disputed not long into the war there will have to be a draft if recruiting number's do not greatly increase. Which they will not obviously.

This is not even a question. Anyone who is following our military readiness understand this and based on the current lack of leadership currently from top to bottom you will not see patriotic spikes in enlistments like you have seen in previous conflict. A lot of us understand you will not even see the reenlistment of recently separated personal that the military could count on in theses times.

So not only are you lacking boot's you're lacking trained combats veterans to lead those boots.

If you know, you know. This is setting up to be a very deadly and bad time for our military because of one reason alone.

Incompetence.

We need to cut the he'll out of the military and stop sending money to Ukraine.

How about that instead of a draft.

However, their pistol marksmanship would probably qualify expert.

I played Baseball in Japan with a black guy nicknamed "Popcorn" A lot better than Biden's fiction Corn Pop.

Popcorn was 6'5" tall. "If the restricted height is 6"-4" How did you get in?" "Bent my knees."
