Sound familiar?
And it was over 150 years ago. At least liberals are melting over recent history. Sad!

Ok. No Lee. No Civil War. No holocaust. No Hiroshima. No 9/11. No Arlington. No crusades. No American Revolution. No 1/12 NC game fiasco. No trail of tears. No Little Big Horn. No conquistadors. Nothing bad or questionable or disappointing ever happened. Ever. No history. Nothing to learn from. Erase it all. Blank slate. Reset.
Yep, with the removal of confederate tributes we now have destroyed all history books, television shows, podcasts, museums, personal anecdotes, etc. on every single topic in human history.

You know every monument is going to have to be replaced with a black figure.

Wait, why aren't we destroying books on civil war? After all, promoting a book that mentions those white devils, such as Lee, is what is leading to the divide in this country is it not? I mean, that's what you sissy's are saying about the statue. That it's preventing the city from "healing". So in fact, you are a stone cold racist for promoting the hate culture in civil war history. Maybe think next time before you open your mouth, you disgusting racist.

Take a deep breathe and go for a walk or something. You're a mess.

Not intelligent enough to debate? Don't forget your vagina hat at your protest.

Dude this isn't difficult to understand.
When you go to Germany, you don't see statues of Hitler rising above buildings at major intersections. Germany doesn't glorify hitler like that anymore.
However, when you visit the holocaust museum, you can learn about Hitler.
That's how it should be. How can you argue otherwise?

Question: are state records covered under FOIA? If someone wanted to see Mitch's correspondence and the permits/contracts over this, could they file a request?
They are public record in theory. They could claim exemption on some of the internal communications if the communications were privileged. communications between Mitch and his general counsel could fit this bill. They could also be exempt if they are deliberative process.
I don't think any communications with the vendor could be exempt from the request though.

Change is scary. Particularly in a backwards place like La./NO. I get it.

Did Lee, Beauregard, Jackson, et al, systematically exterminate people?

American death. Union and Confederate combined.
So, the confederate Generals who's statues are being removed are in actuality Americans? Why do you hate Americans????????

Hitler was a butcher, like Grant, and a madman like Sherman. Lee didn't go around sewing salt in the soil so crops couldnt grow. Sherman did that.

Why would he salt the crops of his own people?

You know he invaded the north, right?

Yes and summarily ran back with his tail between his legs. If he'd have had a long campaign in the north similar to Sherman in the south who knows what he'd have done? War is hell

So that's the standard? We can erect statues of people as long as they didn't systematically exterminate people?
I realize Lee was a complicated guy and the product of a different time, but I fail to see what he did for the city of New Orleans that warrants his glorification. What did he do?
