You showed your arse and now you're trying to compensate for it. Run along, clown.

Yep, with the removal of confederate tributes we now have destroyed all history books, television shows, podcasts, museums, personal anecdotes, etc. on every single topic in human history.
In fairness, if you are not going to destroy all of them, why would you destroy any of them? Are they evil and oppressive, or not?

See any of my other posts this morning defending Lee and Beauregard. They were incredibly important in helping the South recover post-war.

I realize Lee was a complicated guy and the product of a different time,
So was his statue. It's part of what made it interesting and part of what makes so much else of New Orleans interesting.
It's why your Nazi analogy doesn't make much sense. It would only really make sense if we were talking about Nazi soldier or general monuments erected in the 1970s being destroyed 50 years from now.
For what it's worth, I think somewhere in Germany should probably have a statue honoring Erwin Rommel. And, yes, I certainly hate the Nazis.

So again, you refuse to debate? I posed a question, how is keeping books on the civil war with all of those racist white devils in it, going to heal the hurt in the city of New Orleans? You are intent on removing some carved stone, but won't remove literature that is more impactful than a piece of rock could ever be.

Time to kick NOLA out of LA. Maybe we can offer them to Mississippi but I doubt even they would want them.

Lee didn't issue a retreat. He formally surrendered to Grant at Appomattox. Why did you insinuate he retreated? Do you not know that much about the Civil War?

Don't take it out on the people of NOLA. This is just another garbage move by the shitty government there.

No I actually think it's a gross misuse of money by an already broke-dick city. Any other argument in favor of keeping them is lol-worthy, though.

Dude this isn't difficult to understand.
When you go to Germany, you don't see statues of Hitler rising above buildings at major intersections. Germany doesn't glorify hitler like that anymore.
However, when you visit the holocaust museum, you can learn about Hitler.
That's how it should be. How can you argue otherwise?
Nobody is bowing in reverence to Lee. It's a statue that showcases the history of the South. I get it, you progs simply want to whitewash history but for what reason? What possible reason could you have for removing the statues that have been there for many decades? What is it doing to the city other than triggering white liberal transgenders?

Jackson was far "worse" in terms of slavery, etc. than Robert E. Lee in that Jackson held over 100 slaves at one point. He may receive cover as a POTUS, but I'd be shocked if he isn't legit in the crosshairs shortly.
Wilkinson, Claiborne, Jackson, etc. will all be on the list. It's absolute horseshite.
Its going to happen. "They" are already trying to change street and school names. This is just the first step in the line of many. Anything with the slightest tie to southern living, slavery, or the civil war will all be erased from public view.

Try to address the whole post.

It isn't. What the shite are you even talking about?

Why don't you liberals just tell us the truth why you want to remove the statues? We all know the reason, but you keep saying "well it glorifies slavery" which it doesn't, or other nonsensical things.
You want the statues removed because
This is the era of protests. New Orleans is a democrat stronghold therefore if you protest anything in that city, you are protesting your slavemaster Democrat leaders. Ergo, you pick something as silly as monuments to protest. You say it's racist or is somehow hurting the city, when these monuments have been there since 1884. If it's that divisive, why did you and your type only start protesting in 2014, some 130 years later?
Just admit the above, and you'd have an ounce of dignity left.

Ok. No Lee. No Civil War. No holocaust. No Hiroshima. No 9/11. No Arlington. No crusades. No American Revolution. No 1/12 NC game fiasco. No trail of tears. No Little Big Horn. No conquistadors. Nothing bad or questionable or disappointing ever happened. Ever. No history. Nothing to learn from. Erase it all. Blank slate. Reset. Now will somebody please tell us how we are all better off?
This is the most important post. Human's have a bad habit of not learning from history and when it gets destroyed, we are in for a world of horrible, horrible things.
