Ok. No Lee. No Civil War. No holocaust. No Hiroshima. No 9/11. No Arlington. No crusades. No American Revolution. No 1/12 NC game fiasco. No trail of tears. No Little Big Horn. No conquistadors. Nothing bad or questionable or disappointing ever happened. Ever. No history. Nothing to learn from. Erase it all. Blank slate. Reset.

Now will somebody please tell us how we are all better off?

Why are people thinking that removing a statue is "erasing history?" Was the history of Saddam erased when we tore down his statue in Iraq or when we destroyed all Nazi statues in Germany?

Kind of funny to see Republicans getting mad that they are removing statues of Democrats.

Because post-war, Lee and Beauregard were instrumental in rebuilding the South. Without them it's likely that we'd be in worse shape than we already are.

Also responsible for leasing insurrectionist armies that resulted in the bloodiest war the US was ever involved in.

So which side invaded which?

He was merely 150 years ahead of the current leftist states rights enthusiasts who want to ignore immigration and drug laws, same difference, except the current leftists are pathetic in their attempts at violence. No doubt they would violently impose their will if they actually could.

False. It was the bloodiest on US soil, but not the bloodiest that we ever got involved in.

No they weren't. Politicians were responsible. They wer5 simply doing what they thought was the right thing and seeing the bloated behemoth of a government that we have I'm pretty sure that they were right.

Lee Statue is not down - Beauregard is next after Liberty.

I don't have a problem with Liberty being taken down but the rest should stay - especially Lee.

Hope there is at least some resistance for Lee.

Research suggests Civil War was the bloodiest

I read in another place that more soldiers died in captivity than all of our soldiers killed in Vietnam.
