Fair point. I thought about Napoleon. My only counter would be Napoleon won a hell of a lot more than Lee.

Wel your argument doesn't make sense because Lee's statue hasn't been there forever.

That sentence does not correlate whatsoever with my statement. Gather your thoughts, then retype. Here was my original statement.

"No, i'm not. My argument is the same. Idiot liberals want to tear it down because they need a social justice cause. I'm just giving you another example, genius. "

Because post-war, Lee and Beauregard were instrumental in rebuilding the South. Without them it's likely that we'd be in worse shape than we already are.

"My own opinion is that, at this time, they [black Southerners] cannot vote intelligently, and that giving them the [vote] would lead to a great deal of demagogism, and lead to embarrassments in various ways." Lee also recommended the deportation of African Americans from Virginia and even mentioned that Virginians would give aid in the deportation. "I think it would be better for Virginia if she could get rid of them [African Americans]. ... I think that everyone there would be willing to aid it."

yeah i can see why you'd be a fan

I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races

So when are we taking down the Lincoln memorial?
