I honestly cannot believe that people are actually talking about this. It just seems manufactured. Cracker Barrel isn't part of "my heritage" or anything like that. Cracker Barrel is just a themed restaurant among many, a place to stop when you're on a road trip. It's like Mexicans getting worked up if they changed the decor at Chili's or something.

They don’t. Food and service sucks, they all agree.

They just want to be mad about something.

I have no doubt they are DEI oriented, but fail to see how revamping a brand like they did relates.

Its obvious they want to expand their customer base, but chose an odd way to show it. You have to embrace the old with the new.

But on page 1 of this thread you stated "I kinda fail to see where the DEI part of this is. Looks more like Cracker Barrel looking at the aging Demographics and realizing the will not have their customer base in a few years.

Learning curve? You chimed in on a topic (and first page no less) which you had no idea about of how this move is not DEI/woke related?

So we will be running short of old people in the future? You poor thing

You going to wait 20-40 years to market to these people?

And also - you and the folks behind the 'rebrand' or whatever think that all their patrons are southern conservatives about to die off, What about their kids and grandkids that are already in the marketing 'channel/pipeline'? You know, conservative kids that vote and have been going to CB with their parents and Meemaws amd Pawpaws for years. What about them?

I do. I mean the reset is to reach other/younger demographics but the DEI Moniker is being misused as bad by the right as Progressives fricked up racism.

The CB nearest me shut down 2 years ago. It wasn’t because of slow business it was due to lack of staffing. The place would be almost empty but it would take 20-30 minutes to seat you. No one wants to work anymore.

DEI is being used by conservatives? Instead of their trying to get rid of it? Please explain, it seems to me at least you have some explaining to so regarding this topic. BTW, I think your 'know everything' moniker has been exposed on this forum. As it should be.

As someone noted in an earlier post, it's not so much "OMG, MUH CRACKER BARRELLSEZ!!!11" but rather that it's part of a wider trend of watering down or "blanding" brands in order to create broader appeal and/or remove and chance of being "offensive". This latter part dovetails into Cracker Barrel's increasing support of LGBTQ+ANUS6-isms which began ramping up in 2023 and is seen by many as the real impetus for removing the (assumed straight and white) male (and barrel) from their logo.

For many, Cracker Barrel was a taste of Americana past. It harkened back to a time and place where people could leave their homes unlocked and not have to worry about break-ins, where kids could play in their yards without threat of being abducted, where schools weren't fortresses because crazed asshats weren't trying to shoot them up because life wasn't what they wanted it to be and where people didn't throw fits and protest because someone "mis-gendered" them.

For a successful theme restaurant chain, the theme is what got you where you are. When you begin to move away from your theme, you had better have something to take its place. What Cracker Barrel has done has been to move from the theme of a 1920's Southern country store and restaurant in some quiet and idealized place to a 1950's gas station and restaurant. I'm just not sure that sells.

That has been the problem for many companies since Covid. Even gov. workers got too cozy working from home until Trump made them go back to the office.

I'm pretty sure I've read within the last 3 years or so the cracker Barrel has been struggling anyway at least in many places. With this lefty CEO and all the changing they may be trying to cater to the liberal crowd believing most regulars will keep coming and it's the only chance to save it.

Its called brutalist architecture and its a big part of the marxist playbook. Architecture has always been an art of expression just like painting, sculpting, etc. Just go online and look at many of the eastern european publIc building post-WWII. They look like a 3 year old built them with grey colored legos

I suppose the only thing more absurd than replacing a State Farm agent actually named Jake as a company spokesman — mainly because he was white — was refilling that position with a Jussie Smollet look-a-like.

It's a simple issue and thus requires no thinking. It's tailor made for the clicktivist outrage machine. This is the rights version of crappy 3 second edited video of a police shooting. It's a call to arms.

People are sick of leftwing CEOs thinking they take conservative customers for granted. People are sick of change. People are sick of virtue-signaling corporations who's products suck but they got the pride/BLM etc talking points...so they must be good.

CB stock was 150/ share 5 years ago...it's at 50/share today. I hope it falls to 15/share and they go under. Something better will replace them.
