Read another story some time back about a relief worker. She was captured and they did unspeakable things to her, moved from place to place in the jungle. Had a terrible yeast infection from the abuse.
As she laid one night doubled over in pain, shots rang out, but also yells and screams. She figured another group was attacking her captors. She bundled up in a ball, closed her eyes and waited for the worst.
Two strong hands grabbed her on either shoulder and she said the sweetest words ever spoken were whispered in her hear "US military maam, we're here to take you home".
I cant imagine.
