I’m not talking about the media, I’m talking about the real world wrecking of our economy that we can see with our own eyes.

If this is overblown, how does Trump escape blame? He is saying the same thing his experts are saying. Hell, the stay at home guidelines are literally called “The President’s Guidelines”.

So if this ends up being completely overblown and has wrecked our economy, does Trump get any blame for putting these “experts” front and center everyday to spread the dire news?

Who else do you put out there? Barron? I think the best thing he’s done is allowed states and local governments to tailor their response. Small government issues aside, the law thing we need right now is a one-size-fits-all mandate from DC about who’s allowed to leave their house. I’ll be the first to criticize him if he’s does something that stupid. And I don’t expect those governors to be perfect either, I just judge whether or not what they did is reasonable.

Those 2 reminded me of listening to a Meteorologist attempting to predict exact rain patterns in South La.

So they are saying 100k to 240k in USA die only if we do as they say? I pray that they are wrong. It seems like there’s some scare tactics attached to their rhetoric for those that continue to congregate in groups.

Exactly. These experts aren’t any better than a small market tv weatherman.

There is no way 100-200 thousand people are dying of this in the next two weeks in this country when we are just under 3900 last I checked. Especially when we know that hydrochloriquine, Zithromax and zinc are working so well in places where its been used and now it's been green lighted by the FDA to use across the board.

I think the change in tune to doom and gloom is so that when we get to the end of two weeks and we're nowhere near the predicted number of deaths Trump can open up the economy and have political cover in doing it. They'll stress continued social distancing and hand washing etc... and they'll warn seniors or at risk groups to be especially careful but for the rest of us it should be back to work and a more normal life.

I predicted days ago that if the thing slowed down, that some posters would never acknowledge that following the guidelines
the guidelines actually worked.
As usual, Limbaugh is just a provocateur and
Full of shite.

The country that handles this the worst and uses the least amount of guidelines won’t even hit 100k deaths.

Is it wrong form me to want to fix that dark front tooth of hers.

I guess she is too busy with her pandemic models to go to the dentist.

Wait, her pandemic models shut every dentist down.

Oh well.

This is not an unrealistic number. Think about this, there are about 389,292 American veterans from WWII were estimated to still be alive in September 2019. That puts just these men and women in the 80 to 90 age bracket. If these people are not protected, 100k deaths are not unreasonable. How many more WW2 generation people are there, 800,000 or more. Pump the breaks sunshine pumpers and conspiracy nuts, you really have no conception of what you speak about.

What we will know at the end of the year is the number of deaths and an estimate of how much our measures cost in both economic damages and outright money printing. I suspect they’re going to be way out of proportion, but that question will get answered.

Sure but we will never know the true scale of the calamity if we had done nothing like so many on this board advocated for.

I've been saying for days that the use of the word expert is a misnomer and people still downvote me. Says more about them than it does me when discussing the meaning of a word. Continually changing your story is the farthest thing from an expert. You're just an educated guesser.

Scare tactics to keep the masses apart

Nearly 4,000 deaths now in the U.S ...still 96,000 left to go? They gonna quarantine the remainder of the year??

This is serious...but they will back off those numbers big time in a few weeks

Just like Rush Limbaugh said today....the doomsayers can’t ever be wrong because they can always fall back on “well you followed our guidelines amazingly and that’s why we had less deaths than projected”

But at least we know that the people who think that this is just a flu that has been giving a hysterical degree of attention were definitely wrong.

If it follows outbreak exponential growth phase, that can easily hit the mark inside of 2 months.

I don’t think it will though.

Obviously the truth is in the middle

They over estimate severity to project seriousness and focus on the problem, the social distancing helps mitigate the problem, the results are not as bad as it could have been

Big win for everyone but the dead

Problem will be that the number of plaquenil and Zithromax are finite.
