This is a good thread on the port issue and possibly a practical solution

Which means dumb and dumber won’t consider it.

Basically, there is a bottleneck where Long Beach and LA only allow containers to be staked two high. Local ordinances. Temporarily allowing shipyards to stack them six high like they do on the Gulf Coast and East Coast would fix the problem within 120 days.
I genuinely believe they do not want to fix the problem.

Of course they don't want to fix the problem. This is all planned. And at some point, with supply being really low, only vaxxed will be allowed to purchase product. There is a major plan in place to destroy this country.

Don't forget the California law that says trucks older than two years old can't enter the ports.

the problem has nothing to do with storage space or unloading ships
the problem is california requires only green electric, biodiesel alternative fuel trucks can haul stuff in that state and there are very few trucks that meet the standard, so those trucks haul it to the border where its moved to regular trucks that can go across the country in the real world.
you want to fix it in 5 seconds, remove the restrictions on the type of trucks

Of course they don’t want to fix things. They knew Trump was a sure win so they fixed the election. Like Biden just said “it’s not how many votes that counts but who gets to count them”. They will make coming elections virtually impossible. May go as far as Martial Law; as I well remember the Dems claiming that Trump would attempt ML if he knew he’d lose. Expect Dems to do whatever they accuse their opposition of.

It’s all about pushing a hysterical green agenda that doesn’t work in the real world. And the ones behind it won’t be suffering from the effects they inflict upon the rest of us.

Remember when Kamala said you better do your Christmas shopping now a few months ago?
This is 100% planned

The military has the capability to logistically move enough goods, from scratch, across the world, and supply 100s of thousands of troops, they could fix the port. Use them.
Then dismantle the deathgrip the unions have on the port, citing federal law given the national emergency. Force the union to abide or be fired (kinda like a vaccine mandate dont cha know).
While they are "on leave" automate the port and be done with them.
Unions are as much to blame for outsourcing as cheaper labor abroad. And now the entire country sees it.

Stacks of containers 3 or higher are known to cause cancer in california

You’re mistaken. Diesel still rules the day out here and that isn’t changing anytime soon. But there are changes coming that could impact capacity in the future if you operate trucks with engines older than 2010.
quote:
Diesel-fueled trucks transporting cargo destined for or coming from California’s ports and intermodal rail yards (including bobtails and transporting chassis) must be registered in the statewide Drayage Truck Registry prior to entry. Drayage fleets must comply with requirements by operating only vehicles with 2007 MY engines or newer. By January 1, 2023, all class 7 and 8 diesel-fueled drayage trucks must have 2010 or newer engines. Trucks with 2010 or newer engines are fully compliant with both the Truck and Bus and Drayage regulations. The exchange of marine or rail cargo (e.g. containers) between compliant and noncompliant drayage trucks is not allowed anywhere in California.

Port issue is real, but it’s a scapegoat. The supply chain is fricked at every level - trucks, warehouse staffing, DC unloading - every step.

If trump were president this problem would already be solved.

I genuinely find it a concern that we rely on other countries this much for supplies. That itself should wake everyone up.$$$$ It's all about whose pockets in DC are deeper.

Just about anybody can come up with a handful of obvious opportunities for improvement, some drastic improvement. There is no desire to fix this issue.

Northern California needs to break away and open a port. Or maybe we can take San Diego by force.

Social conditioning requires society be conditioned. The new normal is State- architected American DECLINISM. So expect crickets as chaos ensues for the riff raff of America. We deserve this, so says our Progressive Ruling Class.
