Yes...its kept me, a healthy person, from spreading a virus
I am a healthy person with COPD taking daily daily doses of Chemo (which the docs say may have induced the COPD symptoms because there are no other causal factors.) I have had a constant cough for the past 3 years, and each winter/spring I develop bronchitis - with one bout of pneumonia. Other than that I am healthy as a horse except for extreme fatigue.
I had a pack of good face masks that I wore when I mowed my yard to keep the dust out. I used to wear them occasionally when I had to go to a store and my cough was really hard to control - just to protect other people's think that I may have something contagious.
I have kept this same regime all thru this pandemic - I do not wear them to protect ME - I wear them to keep other people from thinking I am threatening THEM. I have no confidence at all that they do anything to protect the wearer.
I am 82 -and when this thing first came out, I knew if I caught it, I'd be a goner. But I NEVER advocated for the economy to be shut down and usher in a commie POTUS just to 'protect' ME for another couple of lousy years.
All this 'virtue signaling' pisses me off.
I was in the process of purchasing a house during the peak of this thing - All the incidental things you have to do in the wake of that have become 110x more difficult - hell - even the "introductions" you get when calling 'customer service' have robbed me of a few months of my life.

if you're contagious
Which is less than 0.5% of the general population that are out and about.

If it appeases the hypochondriacs and we get to keep businesses open then I’m more than happy to wear a stupid mask.
Pick your battles. They’ll tire themselves out soon enough.
No, it will never stop. The next time will be a little more restrictive. And the time after that. And the time after that. Pretty soon we're having to show vaccination certificates to go out in public or hold jobs. Not believing in the false climate change narrative will be declared a health crisis. Guns will be declared a health crisis.
Giving in so easily just gives the authoritarians more desire to control you. It's not difficult to see where they will go if you continually give in just for the hope of returning to the normal of the past. Maybe when scientists predict a "bad flu season" and democrats rush to reenact all the restrictions, people will realize what they have given up and fight back. But I doubt it, there will still be plenty of people saying, "If it helps us get back to normal, just do what you're told once again."
These people intentionally destroyed the strongest economy in recent years. They are not hypochondriacs, they are authoritarians. Not one person enacting these restrictions lost a job or even took a pay cut. Why would you willingly accept them telling you that you have to do what they say in order to earn a living and provide for your family without a fight?

Nobody isn't wearing a mask
That's not true.

It doesn't appease anybody. The people pushing this can not be appeased. They will just change the narrative and come for more.

For the hundredth time, masks do SOME good, but they are not perfect. They prevent the spit particles from flying around. They might reduce the R factor from 1.5 to 1.0.
Thanks, nimrod.

Red Wedding? Just a tad overly dramatic. Did you just see the video Trump put out at the hospital? Dude looks and sounds awfully good to me for someone on his deathbed. I caught Covid the week before and I’m on my last day of being considered contagious. My wife is 2 days behind me and my oldest son just tested positive on Friday. It feels like the flu. People get sick. You get over it.

People are complying with local mandates. If out of state people have a problem with local mandates they can move there and vote.
