Oh no a press conference

We will rebuild

ETA: the poorest gerrymandered district in the entire USA will benefit greatly from new representation with Bennie Thompson gone

Calling the removal of maps that were created to give one group power based on their race "racist" is peak liberal bullshite.

Well good news, someone needs to tell them about a recent Supreme Court ruling.

Ebonics at its finest:

"got smoke" (has smoke)
"like we sweet" (as if we are sweet)
"We pulling up" (We are pulling up)
"them racist maps" (those racist maps)

“We pulling up…” isn’t that a drive-by shooting connotation?

The district has been majority black since the early 90's.

However, it was a Delta district with a few boxes in Hinds County where Bennie lives. He ran and won, replacing Mike Espy.

The Espys and Bennie do not like each other. Mike's nephew ran against Bennie. So Bennie pushed to get more Jackson precincts added, pushing his BVAP up to 62%.

You could go back to the original district, make it reflect the Delta, which is a geographic region of the state that makes sense. It could be majority black but it would take care of Bennie.

I just don't see the legislature making all districts white majority when 37% of the voters are black.

Follow the money. Find out who is really organizing this campaign. How racist is it to think a district must be drawn for a particular race.

Either develop great ideas and effective communication or fuhgedaboudit!!

No, it just means we are coming over or stopping by.

Everyone should be allowed to vote.

Unless they receive food stamps/section 8/medicaid/etc

Then you are no longer a voting member, you are a customer.

While it has evolved into a common, neutral phrase for arriving at a location or social event, its origins are closely tied to urban car culture and gang terminology.
