The Cherokee tribe or whatever they call themselves has a fricking "secretary of state" they claim they used to rule these lands and all they have to show for it is a single hard rock casino. Cuckoo Warren's DNA test isn't even the biggest scam, the fricking "Cherokee nation" is a scam itself. fricking secretary of state. Get the frick out of here, crazy bastards

They call themselves a nation.....also, you realize we have an agency under the Department of Interior strictly for our dealings with the Indian nations?

I have no problem letting them do what they want on their reservations.

If they start wanting specific tribal representation in our government, then we have a problem.

Maybe you should "history" a little, dumbass...

The Cherokee Nation is the federally-recognized government of the Cherokee people and as such has sovereign status granted by treaty and law. Its capitol is the W.W. Keeler Complex near Tahlequah, Oklahoma the capital of the Cherokee Nation. Cherokee Nation has operated under a constitutional form of government since 1827. Today there are more than 320,000 registered Cherokee citizens, making us the largest Native American tribe in the United States.

What America did to the Irish is way worse than what we did to the Indians and we don’t get any casinos

Yeah I get it we let them "play" sovereign nation on a tiny slice of Oklahoma. Nobody gives a frick about them though. If the Cherokee secretary of state tried to call a real world leader, he'd be laughed at.

This Cherokee shite is like the people I work with who claim they are part of the Houma Nation Indians. I usually ask them what kind of perks that comes with. "Uhhh well I have a sticker on my ID"

You do realize that the United States entered into treaties with many of these tribes recognizing them as sovereign states, right?

This dumbass can sound ignorant all he wants, but the Cherokee were pretty forward thinking people for the time. They recognized they couldn’t stop what was coming and instead made efforts to assimilate into western culture by creating their own schools and newspapers among other things. They were smart enough to take steps to ensure their sovereignty damn near 200 years ago.

If their SoS didn't broker a deal with Iran he's still better than John Kerry.
