I understand it’s not a perfect metaphor but a relatively new nation, being attacked by an existing large power.

Aw you’re just smaller and newer, they should just give up, stop the killing! That is what a ton of the sentiment is on this board. Stop the killing never seems to come with the further analysis of “oh wait who are we surrendering to? PUTIN. shite, better get up and prepared for round 3”

Its not our war, why should we enable them by giving them 100s of billions in weapons and programs, give them the intel.

Cargo pants could end this any time he wants, but he wont because he likes the spotlight and his european backers.

I don’t think they should stop the killing. I couldn’t care less if they kill each other for generations. Do it without my money and arms, however.

Why do you retards continue to refer to America and Ukraine as we? There is no we. I’m not Ukrainian and neither are you. Unless you’re one of their cowardly men that refused to fight and fled

If this is your understanding of the situation, then you’re an idiot.

No where should we be required to fund protections for broke dick countries when that money comes from US CITIZENS. Taxpayer money should ONLY benefit taxpayers, not foreign entities.

Right now regarding our two best allies in Western Europe…

- one is overrun with Muslim and third world migrants thanks to open borders that are burning the country down and are actively trying to put the leading candidate to be elected by the people in prison;

- the other is overrun with Muslim and third world migrants thanks to open borders and if you say trans women are not real women they will arrest you and take you to jail.

And both want us to pick up the tab for Ukraine.

I think it’s way past time for them to open their long lost dusty wallets and pick up a check.

We have our own problems here.

quote:

President Barack Obama chose not to launch a military intervention during Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea because of complex local politics in Ukraine, weak European backing, and fears of a broader escalation. Key Factors Behind the U.S. Response • Internal Ukrainian Politics: In a CNN interview, Obama noted that Ukraine in 2014 was vastly different from the nation that faced the 2022 full-scale invasion. Crimea had a heavy population of Russian speakers and deep local sympathies toward Russian interests, and the Ukrainian parliament (Rada) still included numerous pro-Russian figures. • Reluctant European Allies: The Obama administration relied heavily on economic pressure rather than military force, working alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel to rally hesitant European nations. Many European countries—which depended heavily on Russian energy and trade—were initially resistant to imposing harsh sanctions. • Fear of Military Escalation: U.S. and European leaders judged that a direct military clash with nuclear-armed Russia over a peninsula with deep historical and ethnic ties to Moscow carried an unacceptable risk of a wider war. • Alternative Strategy (Sanctions and Diplomacy): Instead of armed intervention, the U.S. and the European Union instituted targeted economic sanctions through measures like State Department Executive Orders, refused to legally recognize the annexation, and sought to block Russian forces from pushing further into the Donbas region. Criticisms and Defense • Criticism: Ukrainian officials and various Western analysts argue that the restrained 2014 response—refusing to provide lethal military aid to Ukraine—emboldened Vladimir Putin and laid the groundwork for the 2022 war. • Defense: Obama defended the approach by arguing that given the fragile state of Ukraine's military and the divided mindset of European capitals at the time, his administration "held the line" to prevent Putin from swallowing the rest of Ukraine

lol, democrats refuse to admit the facts

Putin spent Trumps first term threatening to invade the rest of Ukraine but didn’t because Trump threatened back

And as soon as Biden becomes president he tells Russia we won’t assist Ukraine and the tanks roll in

The ENTIRE Ukraine war is all part of a democrat money laundering coverup

Z releases a statement about it

quote:

We have always had important, strong strategic relations with the United States of America. Our bilateral relationship began developing particularly actively during the full-scale war. I am grateful for all the support.

But we have always built our relationship on honesty, fairness, and, most importantly, transparency. Because when you lie while your people are at war, it is very painful. That is why I have always wanted to hide nothing and never lie to the President of the United States. In any case, we have more in common than America does with Russia. Most people in Ukraine and the United States of America understand this. We would like to continue having the same open, honest, and pragmatic relations with America that we have today.

The position is very simple. We support a mutual energy ceasefire. If we are talking about the idea that we should not strike back at Russian energy facilities after they strike our gas, electricity, oil – everything. The Russians are striking. America cannot stop them. Let's believe that America really wants to, but cannot. Then, as a partner, I am willing to meet President Trump halfway: if they strike us and we cannot strike back – that is neither honest nor fair – but if this is what you need, if you cannot rein Putin in, then give us interceptor missiles so I can protect our energy infrastructure. You couldn't stop Putin – but you helped Ukraine.

Hell yes. Powerful countries should align with powerful countries.

Ukraine: no strategic value; ruled by a tiny gay man who was an actor.

European Union: ruled by women and Muslims.

Russia: many natural resources; cohesive culture and homogenous.

China: see above.

For all you doomers crying about Russia and China wanting to take over the US GTFO. Let’s get the band back and rule the world baby!

I don't recall that happening.

Granted, I don't follow such things closely, so I certainly could have missed it.

But would you please provide more details or perhaps a link?

No you weren’t. People like you coupled America to Ukraine the moment it became politically expedient for you to do so. Specifically because you believe it hurts Trump and Republicans.

You don’t actually care about Ukraine. Tell the truth.
