True, but only in the weak sense that those identities have deeper roots. When around one-fifth of the people in Britain, Germany, and Sweden are foreign-born, it’s hard to say everyone agrees on what British, German, French, or Swedish really means. Europe’s identities are old, sure, but they’re definitely still argued over.

And furthermore, I think it’s disingenuous to assume that people that are born here that become citizens will ultimately vote Democrat that’s awful judgmental if you ask me

That is a sad story, and I hate it happened. In an ideal country none of that would ever happen, but we don’t have that. I still say life here is pretty great comparatively. Unfortunately there will always be bad things that happen in any society. We should definitely be doing more to address it

We've had Birth right citizenship for over a hundred years. It was changed by executive order but it really should be changed by amendment and have the states vote on it. It isn't like it was just pushed on us. It's been in place since the 14th amendment.

Disagree completely.

We are a nation attempting to cohabitate with one group that’s strongly nationalist, capitalist and embraces traditional American values and another that is globalist, socialist and often first or second generation immigrant and that despises traditional American values.

The two sides can’t persist within a shared government indefinitely, one side has to win and the other lose or a split will take place.

It would have been something. I’m not really arguing for birthright. Just saying that I believe being American still means something.

And the best thing that could happen as Americans is more people become engaged with their local communities and do what they can to make it a better place. That’s how we change things imo. I’ve long given up on the government and a-hole politicians to do anything worthwhile. What makes this country great is the everyday people coming together. Maybe I’m wrong, but I still think that is possible.
